Question about ASUS Computers & Internet
I am trying to set up 5.1 channel surround sound with the on-board audioof Asus P5K-E / Wifi AP motherboard. The audio chip on this motherboardis Analog Devices AD1988B. I am using speakers (2-front, 2-rear and acenter - no subwoofer) from an old AIWA music system.
I've reached a point where I can hear test sounds from all the 5 speakers. However, my problem is, the volume on the front center speaker is really low.
I am wondering if the on board audio hardware is powerful enough todriver the speakers directly. Although the front-left and front-rightspeakers sound pretty good. The sound on two rear speakers is slightly low too, but is acceptable.
Anyone having similar problems? Any ideas?
If it is of any significance, the system runs Ubuntu 9.04 OS. The problem occurs even if I switch to Windows XP Pro.
Since the left and right speakers sound pretty good, there is no problem with the driver software, the problem is in the sound system itself. be sure to have your sound system be check by a professional technician
