Question about Lowrance LCX-18C
On a recent fishing trip I noticed the unit got very hot. Smoke was coming from the inside. I quickly unplugged it, but damage had been done. Since I know a little about electronics, I opened it up to look at the damage. There is a large coil next to an electrolitic capacitor (100V 3300mf) that is fried. One lead is no longer attached to the board. A diode, which I'm not sure where it came, became so hot it was actually indented in the back of the plastic cabinet. What can I do? Can I send back to you for repair. I love the unit, but there is a limit to what I can spend to fix it. Please let me know what I need to dol
Unfortunaley i have a problem with mine also. I contacted Lowrance, and they no longer support or repair this unit.
