Product just arrived, saw is stuck in cutting position

There is usually a safety or transit lock or pin which is engaged to lock the saw down for safety and for a more convenient way or transporting it.

The ones on my saws are a simple ball-headed pin sited close to the hinge of the saw which can be easily withdrawn once enough downward pressure has been applied to the saw to overcome the return spring pressure.

How to take off the pin that hold the ajustment lever on a DW 713 Dewalt Miter saw ?

I would use a hammer and a smaller diameter punch than the pin. Take a few wacks and see what happens. If it is rusted soak it with something like liquid wrench over night.

My chop saw has power but does nothing, it's new. Brushes are good, Power to the switch but it does nothing.

Hi. Maybe there is a safety interlock of some sort for which the conditions are not being met, maybe a blade guard switch or some such. Can you refer to the owners manual?

WENT TO BUY A DW713, AND NOBODY KNEW THE CORRECT PROCEDURE ON HOW TO CHANGE THE BLADE

sjacquesjr-

I own the dw713 - it a good saw.

To change the blade, first unplug the saw. Bring the blade guard all the way up. When you do you should see a black star drive bolt on the left side of the blade housing, toward the front. This bolt must be loosened far enough to allow the guard to rotate up far enough to expose the bolt holding the blade to the arbor. With the guard out of the way, press in the arbor lock on the motor housing (its a black or gray button) while slowly turning the blade. You should feel the arbor lock engage and the blade no longer turn. The rest of the steps you have to do while holding this button in...an extra set of hands would help about now. Using the wrench that comes with the saw (its mounted at the back, near the dust port), unscrew the arbor bolt. The arbor bolt is reverse threaded to match the blade rotation, so it will be counter-intuitive when screwing/unscrewing this bolt. To unscrew, push the wrench away from you. To replace the blade, just reverse these steps. When putting on a new blade, don't forget to orient the blade teeth in the direction of rotation. Happy cutting!

If this has been helpful, please take a moment to give me four thumbs up.

Can't find my owners manual. How do I change the blade. Bolt hits on a guard that covers the arbor. On a DW713 combination saw.

Removing the Blade
1. Unplug the saw.
2. Raise the arm to the upper position and raise the lower guard as far as possible.
3. Loosen, but do not remove guard bracket screw until the bracket can be raised far
enough to access the blade screw. Lower guard will remain raised due to the position
of the guard bracket screw.
4. Depress the spindle lock button (Fig. 3) while carefully rotating the saw blade by hand
until the lock engages
5. Keeping the button depressed, use the other hand and
the wrench provided to loosen the blade screw. (Turn
clockwise, left-hand threads.)
6. Remove the blade screw, outer blade clamp, and
blade. The inner blade clamp may be left on the
spindle.
Installing a Blade
1. Unplug the saw.
2. With the arm raised, the lower guard held open and the
guard bracket, place the blade on the spindle against
the inner blade clamp with the teeth at the bottom of
the blade pointing toward the back of the saw.
3. Assemble the outer blade clamp onto the spindle.
4. Install the blade screw and, engaging the spindle lock,
tighten the screw firmly with wrench provided. (Turn
counterclockwise, left-hand threads.)
5. Return the guard bracket to its original position and
firmly tighten the guard bracket screw to hold bracket
in place.
WARNING:
• The guard bracket must be returned
to its original position and the
screw tightened before activating
the saw.
• Failure to do so may allow the guard
to contact the spinning saw blade
resulting in damage to the saw and
severe personal injury

I need to know how to change the blade on a Black and Decker 1710 Type 2 10'' Miter Saw.

Go to Dewaltservicenet.com and in the middle of the page towards the bottom type in the model number 1710 and it will go to another page requesting either a breakdown or instruction manual, you have to use the manual for a type 4. They do not offer the type 2 as an online version. Hope this helps
