Question about Samsung DLP HL-P4663W 46" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Lamp replacement troubles

I have a Samsung DLP HL-P4663W and am trying to replace the lamp. The assembly is not connecting inside the TV. It rolls in on the track okay, but the screw that holds the assembly in place doesn't seem to fit, so that tells me that the unit is not in all the way. I tried giving it a hard push to get it to connect, but had no luck. Any suggestions?

It is not a correct replacement lamp. Look for the "lamp code" on the side of the set. Make sure the replacement lamp has the same number.

Test the lamp

Lamps can't be tested. All you can do is replace it or try your old lamp in the exact same TV model. in most cases though your TV will have a lamp indicator light on the front panel that will come on when the lamp needs replacing.

Hi:
This is and indication of a bad color wheel assembly, you can replace the color wheel yourself, there are lots of Youtubes videos on how to do this.
