Question about Mastercool 67471 Evaporative Cooler Air Conditioner
Mastercool seems to make a loud rumbling noise when on high. sounds like a plane taking off
Could be the fan is full off dust or something causing it to be out of balance

This type of cooler has "pillow bearings" where the squirrel cage fan rests in the frame. They must be lubricated with oil at least yearly. If they go dry the bearings can wear out and cause the noise. Oil them first to see if the noise is less and maybe you can get by without replacing them. If the noise is still there you may need a bearing replacement. Always turn off the power to the unit before you work on it.
