HI. i would check the water valve inlet screens and make sure that the wall outlet faucets are fully open. if the screens and the wall faucets are OK, this will confirm a water valve issue. you will need to replace the water valve assembly in this case.

Click here for your new water valve assembly.

Hot water does not come in, only cold water comes in, the water pump works on cold water does not start on hot water

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

There are no water inlet pumps on standard washers- the water, both for hot and cold, is fed in simply under 'mains' pressure.
(The following is pre-typed for hot and cold!)

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

I have a fisher and paykel washing machine. Its started leaking under the machine when its do the rinse.

The leak could be from:
  • the pump
  • one of the hoses that attaches to the pump system

It is likely to be the pump. However, to verify where the leak is coming from do the following:
  1. Make sure the washer is empty of excess water. (Run the Spin cycle, if not sure.)
  2. Unplug the washer.
  3. Turn off the hot and cold water supply taps.
  4. Disconnect the hot and cold water supply lines.
  5. Pull the washer away from the wall a couple feet.
  6. Have a helper tip the washer back toward the wall and hold it up securely for you!
  7. Get down on the floor with a flashlight and look up underneath the washer for the pump. It will have a small fan blade as well as wiring and water tubing going to it.
  8. If you see signs of rust or water drops on the pump, the pump impeller shaft seal is probably leaking. Order a new pump and install it. It takes no tools and about 20 minutes as follows...

  1. Get a roll of paper towels.
  2. Make sure the washer is empty as above.
  3. Unplug the washer.
  4. Turn off hot and cold taps.
  5. Disconnect hot and cold supply lines.
  6. Pull washer away from the wall a foot or two.
  7. Tip the washer back toward the wall.
  8. Have a strong, reliable helper hold the washer in that position -- firmly against the wall.
  9. Get down on the floor. Lie on your back and put your head and arm under the washer (that's why you need a good helper!).
  10. Unplug the electrical wiring to the pump. (The GWL11 has 2 wiring connectors.)
  11. Slide a shallow plastic dishpan under the pump to catch any water.
  12. Find and bend back slightly (don't break it!) the plastic retaining latch that holds the pump in place.
  13. Rotate the pump counter-clockwise about 60 degrees, until it comes free.
  14. Note the angle/position of the pump as you pull it free. This is the same angle/position you'll use when you put in the new one.
  15. Have your helper clean up any excess water that ran onto the floor.
  16. Install the new pump.
  17. Have your helper lower the washer to the floor.
  18. Reconnect the washer to the hot and cold water supplies.
  19. Open the hot and cold taps.
  20. Plug in the washer.
  21. Test the washer with no clothes in it.
BTW - Cleaning all dust out from under the washer a couple times a year should help prevent pump squealing and leaking in the future.

Can you use hot water instead of the normal cold water in the Karcher winner 11. I wish to clean the grease trap of my house.

DO NOT USE HOT WATER!!! This machine is rated for cold water, the pump head is made out of plastic, the plastic pump and electric motor are cooled by the cold water that moves through the pump. If you add hot water into the mix there is a good chance that you are going to overheat the unit.

Just using cold water on the grease trap might do the trick, try using a good quality degreaser, I would recommend a product called 8-Ball, this is a great degreaser and should help to solve your problem.

The fill valve opens and the house water pressure pushes the water into the washing machine.
No cold water or no hot water - The fill valve has two coils, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. It is possible that one of the coils can fail and you loose that filling ability. If the cold water coil quits, the hot will still work and during warm fill you will get hot water only and during a cold fill you will get no water at all. You can test a fill valve live for 120 volts, power to a fill valve coil and no fill = a bad fill valve. You can also test the coils for continuity, no continuity = a bad fill valve. Some Maytag washers have a fuse in the fill valve circuit, if this fuse let go the washer will not fill. Fill valves can also from time to time stick open and not stop filling. If you have to shut off the fill valves to stop the water from filling in the washer, you have a bad fill valve and you will have to replace it.

Mixed Water Fill Causes Issues with Water Pressure

You will have to be specific about what problem the pump is having. It seems to pump ok for everything else. Could the hot solenoid be shorting and sending electricity down the water to bother the pump? Solenoids are not real expensive, try a new one.

F11 can be showing for 2 differant fault conditions.
If it is a cold fill washer only ,then the pump is not working for one reason or another. Check pump operation.
If it is hot and cold fill, then it means no hot water is coming in,check hot water supply to washer.make it is turned on.
If u need any more help,\ let me know.

Are both the hot and cold water faucets turned on?
Turn on the water. Check the household faucets to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Completely open both faucets for proper fill.
NOTE: Both hot and cold water must be connected to the washer and turned on; the washer will not properly operate with only one incoming source of water.

Straighten the water inlet hoses.
Are the water inlet valve screens on the washer clogged?
