Question about Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook
The backlight on our acer 5315 laptop wont saty on. when we turn it on the acer logo is displayed but turns the backlight off after a few seconds, we try to use the fn+f6 to turn on the backlight but it usually will only stayon for a few seconds. why wont is stay on?
The inverter board which provides the backlight power isn't working properly. This is a pretty common problem with LCD screens. The inverter is in the display, mounted under the display panel. It's a fairly simple job to replace the inverter. You have to remove the screws holding the front of the display to the back and separate the pieces. The inverter is held in place by a couple of screws and has a couple of cables connecting it to the main board and display panel. Unplug those, remove the inverter, mount the replacement and plug the cables back in. Then reassemble the display. A search on Google for "acer 5315 inverter" turned up several sources for the replacement part. Here is one. I don't know anything about this seller; I just picked it as an example.
