Acer aspire 5520 keeps powering off before it starts properly how do i fix

Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On until you get the Safe Mode Option.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Switch On your PC/ Laptop and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->Click 'System Restore'

A 'System Restore' window will appear.

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next

Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

The problem is that when u start the laptop it will come on but after some time it goes and yet the indicator light will still be on and nothing will respond again. its hp nc6000 laptop

Hi Sir_chiks,

I see that you are epxeriencing a no boot no video issue on your Laptop.

Have you tried power cycling the Laptop, turn the Laptop OFF then unhook the AC ADapeter remove the battery then press and hold down the power button for about 15 seconds this should drian way all the reamaining power from the systemboard. once the power cycling is done. reconenct the Adapter and the battery on the Laptop and try turning it ON again see if the machien will boot back into windows.

If still the issue is the same, try going into the BIOS of your Laptop see if it will boot to the BIOS.
If the system boots to BIOS set the BIOS to defaults tehn restart the machine, but if it does not boot inot the BIOS then there is something wrong porbably with the motherboard.

I hope that this few detail can help.

Have a nice day,

mvincentc

As soon as you power up your laptop, keep tapping F8 until another screen pops up. Select reinstall windows / restore factory settings (Should be an option to reset your computer back to factory settings)
Any data on your computer will be lost during this process.....
This will reinstall the windows you already have on your hard drive and will not require a disk.

Hope this helps and please rate, thanks

Compaq presario c 500 won't turn on

Hi there
First of all the bios battery has run out, this is why its not keeping date and time.
Secondly the system memory has developed a fault, take the memory out and clean the slots and contacts, you will find the memory under a small panel underneath the laptop, laptop memory looks like this >> 8e91ce7.jpg When cleaned re-seat the memory and try booting the machine up, if it does all good!!
You will however have to take the laptop to a PC repair shop to have the bios battery changed as this means that the laptop has to be dissembled to get to the battery.
To keep the date and time keep the AC power jack plugged in.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!
