Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer

Vertical lines showing up in printouts both in color and Black and white. All lines appear on the left side of paper portrait view.

I am getting lines on the right side of printouts both in black and white and color. I have new toner cartridges. I suspect the main roller.

Initially I got super frustrated - my warranty is run out, and did all the normal checks, and everything was clean. So after many MANY many hours of searching, i found out how a laser printer actually works (properly), found a service manual, and found out it was the LSU mirror. The mirror actually 'projects' the letter/image to the drum using a negative charge, and since the toner is positive, it grabs onto it!! Voila! That's how a laser printer works. All it took was 5 screws, carefully handling the LSU unit and gently cleaning the mirror (clear glass plate thingy) with a very soft clean tissue. Works like a dream now....if it was under warranty, i would've wasted time dealing with people who act like it's going to take a million years, when it really should take 5 friggen minutes...email me if you have probs leeloominai_de_sebat@hotmail.com and in subject type in 'CLP 315' so it doesn't go to junk.

Have vertical cyan lines 1 inch wide on same side

Don't know about your "primed" toner, but go to Diagnostics and run the PQ test. See what that looks likes. Go to Disable Cartridge Check and swap the black and cyan toner. Run another PQ test. Are the lines still there and are they black or cyan? If they are cyan, the cartridge is bad. If they are black it's not the cartridge. It going to take a tech to look at it.

4 colour dots on printout but not 150mm apart

Measure the distance between two of the same coloured dots down the page, if it is just over 150mm then it is caused by scratches on the photoconductor drum (this is the only thing that has a 15.4mm circumference). Try printing a black and white only document, only the black dots should appear. Removing the photoconductor and gently polishing the blue drum with a soft cloth can help if the scratches are not too deep, otherwise a new photoconductor is the only route.

Most Mustek scanners have a black inside cover on the lid, this can give a black line down the side of the job.
ether cover the inside of the lid with white paper or place a bigger sheet on top of the sheet to be scanned!
