First off make sure ALL Units using HDMI are Powered OFF! Connect Cable, Then turn on all components. On the PS3 Crossbar (Menu) go to the 2nd column on the left, Then down to Display Settings. Choose Output Settings, Choose HDMI, Use AUTOMATIC. Then do the same with the Audio, HDMI, AUTO Make sure your TV is on the Right HDMI Input! Good Luck!

If there is NO HDMI on the TV, There are 2 options to still get HD. 1. Check if your TV has a DVI input, If it does you need a DVI to HDMI converter. This can be a problem with some TV models it might not sync up 100%. 2. I recommend doing this, Purchase the Component Cable For the PS3 from Best Buy or any Game store. Make sure it is the ONE for the PS3!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This cable will give you up to 1080i resolution and stereo Audio. Plug in the Red, Green and Blue into the Component (R,G,B) Input in the TV, The Red and White (audio) will follow into the same Input (White and Red) just match the colors from the cable to the TV. On the PS3 in the Menu go to the 2nd row from the Left and down to DISPLAY SETTINGS. Select Component (under HDMI) check off everything except 1080p and then SAVE by pressing X. If you have a Receiver (AMP) that your Audio goes into, Then you can buy an Optical Cable for Surround Sound. Plug in the Optical cable then on the PS3 go into the menu, 2nd row, Sound Settings, Choose Optical, Then choose Auto and SAVE! Hope this will Help!

You can get a PS3 adapter cable to hook up to the AVI 4 imput on your Magnavox projection TV (the green, blue and red video and red and whit audio HD imputs) You will have to change the dispay settings to 480p (that is the HD level of the TV). it is a bit tricky because you will have to start in the non HD imput, change the setting (the screen will go blank for 30 seconds) so VERY quicky unplug the yellow, red and white cable from the PS3 and plug in the HD cable. then press the X button or right on the direction pad and the setting should change over. switch to the AVI 4 imput and you should be good to go
TIP: have the HD cable plugged into the TV already to make it quicker so you just have to change the cable in the PS3...a bit of a silly process, but it should work.
TIP2: you can get the cable needed at blockbuster, future shop or best buy.
