Re: printer update

Print Head Cleaning / Head Refreshing If the printed nozzle check pattern is broken, missing, or a specific color is not printed, clean the print head. NOTE:
a. Cleaning the print head consumes a small amount of ink. Cleaning too often reduces the amount of ink in the ink tanks.

b. Print head cleaning is performed when you connect the power cord. Your machine may perform print head cleaning periodically to avoid clogging.

  1. Press <COPY> or <PHOTO>.

  2. Press <Menu> repeatedly until <USER DATA> appears.

  3. Press < (left arrow) or > (right arrow) to select [MAINTENANCE].

  4. Press <OK>.

  5. Use < or > to select [CLEANING] or [HEAD REFRESHIN] as necessary.

[CLEANING]: Performs normal print head cleaning.
[HEAD REFRESHIN]: Performs deep print head cleaning.

  6. Press <OK>.

  7. Print a Nozzle Check Pattern to see if print quality improved.
    1. Press <COPY> or <PHOTO>.
    2. Press <Menu> repeatedly until <USER DATA> appears.
    3. Press < (left arrow) or > (right arrow) to select [MAINTENANCE].

    4. Press <OK>.

    5. Press <OK> again.
The machine prints a nozzle check pattern (A).

  8. If broken or white lines appear in the pattern, perform two Head Refreshings (from steps 1 through 6) then print another Nozzle Check Pattern.

  9. If print quality does not improve after two Head Refreshings, replace the appropriate ink tank.

I can't connetc mx310 to my new computer. The computer is running windows vista. Do I need to download a seperate software ?

The printer drives varies with OS, even if the printer is of the same model. So goto canon website and specify your printer model and OS, download appropriate drivers and install it in Vista. Then you are good to go.

Prints one or two lines & then stops & says "outbind" error

Hi lhessel,

The best solution is to contact Cannon on the net, ask for tech support and download any updates available for your printer (make sure they are for the operating system you are using, i.e. Windows XP Home or Professional Version, Windows Vista).

Will not print .

Which Canon printer are you using? Does the printer show up on your printer status panel. If you still have the driver install program for the Canon printer, disconnect the printer, uninstall the printer driver, cold boot the system (power off / power on), reinstall the printer driver, plug in the printer. The system should sense the new hardware and install the driver. This should correct the problem.

Previously operating Canon Pixma IP6700D is now not recognized

Question: Was it working on this same computer and the same Windows Operating System before? If so, I'd re-install the software for the printer. If you have a different Operating System, then I'd go on line and get the latest update drivers for that operating System. Hope this is helpful. Bud
