SOURCE: My Toshiba 46RV530u HDTV has starting needing

Same issue as others on this forum. This is NOT OKAY.

The technician at the authorized Toshiba repair facility said the LCD panel was going bad and there isn't anything they can do but replace it.. the replacement is more than a new TV.

At first I thought it was short life and strange, then he showed me the 5 other units in his show WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!

Then I find this forum...? And some say its an LG panel issue...? I think this screams out consumer protection!

I want everyone who finds this forum to post on other forums and start sending me their contact info, model number, serial number, and an image of the issue.

I am taking this to Consumer Reports, consumer protection, the BBB, YouTube, etc....

This is NOT acceptable.... we need to let Toshiba know it is not acceptable and that Toshiba needs to address poor quality in their consumer products !!!andedwar.jpgandedwar_0.jpg

The single line means that the vertical deflection doesn't work. And since it is working when you kick the tv or has warmed it's clearly a bad connection - open the case and reseat the wires going to the tube coil.

Horizontal Lines that disappear when TV warms up

Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Picture won't come in clear until TV "warms up" for 15 minutes or more

Change the capacitors first per the instructions in the link below. Symptoms could be anything from high-pitched hum to no picture at all. On these defective models, I would start at the caps and work back. It won't hurt to replace them anyway.
