Question about Creative Labs ZEN V Plus MP3 Player

Repeated "Firmware Problem," Nothing fixes it...

Right, so, I go to plug my Zen V plus into the computer to charge. It came up with a "Firmware Error" screen, and has frozen there. It hasn't done anything else, no recovery mode. Also won't turn off....

I tried the reset button, but that only shuts it off, and the next time I turn it on it re-starts the "Firmware Problem" Problem all over again.

I tried connect to the computer. This merely turns it on and sends it into the locked-up Firmware Problem screen.

I tried Creative's Recovery tool, AND firmware update tool. Both failed to find it.

At this point, I don't know what to do, and nothing I try is fixing it. Maybe one of you with better knowledge of this can help? I'd appreciate it. ^-^

You can try this just to make sure. If a reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

plug it to your computer. backup all files that you want to keep. Download a firmware for the player from the manufacture. Do a firmware update. That should fix the error.

If you already try both reset, then try doing a firmware update.

On computer try unplugging computer power cable, and if it is a laptop also remove battery, this sort out problems related with electrostatic charges on computer USB ports.

Creative zen is no longer recognized by computer, cannot charge

You need to isolate the problem first before downloading and flashing the firmware of it. Try connecting the Creative into different USB ports of the computer, try different computer or try different USB cable first. Then if you get the same problem after trying those things, then you may refer to the link below and download the firmware:

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/FIRMWARE/Creative/Creative-ZEN-Firmware-12101e-For-Europe-Only.shtml

But I would suggest to contact the manufacturer for flashing the firmware.

Try a different USB cord if you have one and plug it in to a desktop computer (not a laptop). Leave it plugged in for a while and the battery might be charged enough to display the screen (happened to me on my zen vision M and this fixed it)

Zen v plus will not power on

Try plugging it in to a USB port and then perform a reset. It worked for me. Doing it in that order worked but if I tried doing one or the other.... no worky.

Zen V Plus 4 GB

Have you tried updating the firmware of your Zen V Plus? I've had mine for almost an year and haven't had these issues -- I updated the firmware as soon as I unpacked it.

try downloading the
MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.

By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok

My mp3 player is broen HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

I`ve had the same problem twice, it seems the player erases the whole firmware when this happens. You can fix this by plugging it to your computer in recovery mode, this will allow you to reinstall firmware.(Search google for zen nano plus recovery mode to find instructions.)
