Can't play movie

Go into the Menu of the DVD player and take it off of Progressive Scan.

Probably fix it with the remote. Look up progressive scan in your manual, and turn it off.

Check if the dvd remote got some button with that name and disable it

hotpoint first edition hvl211 has 3 flashing lights how do u stop this is there a reset you can do

I found the manual for this dvd player online. There is a switch on the back of the player. PSCAN is Progressive Scan. Some TV's are not compatible with this function so the switch must be turned off. This worked and I was watching a dvd last night!

ariechic, did you ever fix the problem? i have this same problem and i don't know how to fix it...

On the Insignia remote control:

- press power on
- Open disk tray
- click set up button
- click the arrow button pointing left
- press enter
- click the arrow button pointing up
- press enter
- press enter again

I got this off of a website yesterday evening and figured I'd give it a try. Well, it worked. The screen went back to it's original state and the PSAN error (in the middle of the screen) disappeared.

on the back of the dvd there is a black interruptor, it should be set as PSCAN OFF. thats all folks

Check your remote for a button that says, Progressive Scan, or PSCAN. Push it and then play your movie. Should work. Worked for ours. Good luck.

Look on the back of the dvd player. It has a progressive scan switch. Switch it off. Now it should have one screen.
