Question about Pioneer DEH-P4100

Pioneer DEH-4100 No power

The radio just stopped working. I have pulled it out and tried a different radio and that worked so the wiring in the car is fine. I have also checked the fuse and it is fine. I'm wondering if something is wrong with the faceplate but I'm not sure how to test that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I plugged in a fosgate and it worked fine. I do not get a buzzing noise. I don't get anything. No clock, no lights, nothing. I did remove the fuse on the back for a few seconds and when I powered it up it did eject the CD that was in it. But that is the only thing it did.

Thanks. I tried that and did not get anything. So I guess that means the head unit is bad.

when you plug in a pioneer there is a buzzing noise that resets the radio. does this happen when you plug it in. And what other radio have you tried. I ask this because some radio's only require 1 live to work were as pioneer requires 2. If a buzzing noise happens it means its getting a permanent live.

If you dont have a 12volt power supply, you can test the headunit by connecting your yellow, red, and black wires directly to a car battery. connect the yellow and red wires to the positive terminal and the black wire to the negative terminal. Before doing this make sure the red wire has the small inline resistor supplied by pioneer and the yellow wire has a 10amp fuse.

Try disconnecting the negative ground (-) cable from the battery. That will disconnect power to everything including your radio. It might reset it self when you restore power by reconnect the negative ground cable to the battery.

Car Radio just stoped working.

My same model did this too. The wiring harness may have gone bad. Try direct wiring the stereo or replacing the wiring harness if you can get one. This fixed the problem for me.

Preset memory not working on pioneer DEH 1700 radio

You must connect the constant hot wire (or there is a fuse blown somewhere).... it should either be orange or yellow at the rear of the pioneer radio ... it should be connected to a wire that recieves power even when the key is off ... that wire will depend on the car itself ... if you used a connector to plug into the factory wires (a good idea) that connecter should have a yellow wire that would supply a constant "hot" for your pioneer, if it doesn't there should be a fuse blown in the car fuse box.
