My ls2208 scanner is intermittent

If the scanner decodes a barcode one time, but not another the first thing to check is the cable. If the scanner issues the power up beeps when the cable is wiggled, replace the cable. If you know the cable is not the issue send the scanner in to Motorola Solutions (call 800-653-5350) for repair. The LS2208 has a five year warranty. You can roughly estimate your warranty by looking at the date of manufacture on the label of the scanner which is just above the trigger.

I have LS2208 PS2 and Nothing is send to computer

have you tried swopping out the cable? If that doesnt work I would just buy a new device. These are cponsidered consumable scanners. When they faile they tend to get replaced because they are so cheap

LS2208 scanner not returning for multiple scans

It sounds like you need to program a Tab after each scan. You will need to download the manual from www.motorola.com so you can access the setup bar codes.

4 beep error when scanning barcode

The four beep error is a communications error. Usually it indicates the scanne is not configured properly. If the scanner is connecting with the CBA-K01-S07PAR cable and you are using a PS/2 keyboard you should have scanned the IBM PC/AT barcode from Adobe page 56 of 342 of the LS2208 Product Reference Guide.

If you do not have a PS/2 keyboard attached and are using a USB to PS/2 adapter you should scan the IBM AT Notebook from that same page. If the scanner does not start working immediately you may have to reboot your system. If the scanner still does not work the CBA-U01-S07ZAR USB cable might be a better choice.

If you are not connecting with either of these cables and are still getting the four beep error a call to the Motorola support center may be in order. Their phone number is 800-653-5350.

LS2208

Symbol has confirmed that there was a batch of scanners sent out with defective lasers. Call them at 800-653-5350 for a replacement. Have the scanner handy to give them the serial number. They were very helpful.
