If you already replace PCU still produce line on copy it could be fuser roller found at fusing unit. if black lines replace fuser unit or if available fuser roller much better but if white lines just clean laser unit. another problem may contribute might be deform frame of scanning section includes mirrors and alignment of lens unit this problem occur usually upon transport of the machine.

the vertical line that you saw is an indication of either it is normally worn out, or something has caused the scratched, by any material ( PC drum is very sensitive to any material and can easily damaged or scratched any solid and unwanted dirt inside) see you actual meter reading. if it falls on the first thousand copies or print then it might have caused by a scratched, if it falls beyond the PM parts repalcement then there is nothing you can do but to replace this.

sometimes you can swap the colors, by the affected color use the yellow drum unit to the affected drum, the vertical would not that be obvious.

Yes :
You should replace the PCU if prints show any of the following symptoms.

  • Colors are missing, faint, or partially blurred.
  • Toner smears appear.
  • White or color rivers appear.
  • White or colored streaks appear.
    1. Important: Switch off the device and disconnect it at the mains.
    2. Open the right side cover.
    3. Pull the green levers as shown to release the inner cover.
    4. Lift the inner cover upwards.
    5. Squeeze the green lever on the black PCU.
    6. Pull the unit carefully out of the device and dispose of it in accordance with your local environmental policy.
    7. Place the new PCU on a flat surface.
    8. Peel off the tape from around the new PCU.
    9. Remove the top cover from the PCU. DO NOT remove the bottom cover at this stage.
    10. Rest the new PCU in the device as shown.
    1. Push the PCU into the device while holding the bottom cover. You will hear a click when the PCU has locked into place.
    2. Lower the inner cover.
    3. Push the two green levers as shown to secure the cover.
    4. Close the side cover.
    5. Connect the device at the mains, switch it on and wait for the self-test operation to finish.

It might be a print driver problem. I think there several different drivers. Go to Ricoh-usa.com and download all the drivers for the operating system you are using and try them. If there is a rpcs driver that might be your best bet.

Go to the maintenance tab, besides head cleaning use the re alignment feature. I was getting a few lines & that corrected it.

Otherwise, the glass in the ADF may be dirty. Follow the instructions in this document concerning cleaning of the ADF glass strip. It is about half way through the document:

How to clean Ricoh Aficio MP 2000

sounds like either drum blade has fail or drum is bad. try printing the counter report and see if it is doing this. Then photo conductor unit needs to be rebuilt or replace. open right side door and look at drum make sure you don't touch it and see if toner is on it. If so drum blade has fail. call a tech or buy new photo conductor unit. this are good for approx 60,000 copies but sometimes will go longer age also play with drum blade life. were you might have 20,000 copies but unit is 5 years old

After a few copies are made, black streaks start showing up on the copies and gets worse with each successive copy

for most copier those black streaks are caused by poor cleaning of the Photo Conductor Drum these can be fix by replacing the cleaning blade. after replacing them clean the Photo Conductor Unit and make some test copies.

A line is on my document when i print on my copier, how do i fix this?

TEST:

  1. Copy from the glass, is the line there?
  2. Copy from the Document feeder is the line there?
  3. Print a counter sheet, is the line there?
If 1 is false and 2 is true: Clean the little **** of glass at the left side of the scanner.

If 1 and 2 are true and 3 is false, You need to remove the platen glass (the big glass) an clean the mirrors. WITH THE POWER OFF

If all are TRUE you have an issue inside the Photo conductor unit and it will need to be serviced by a qualified person.

Paper jams

there are two parts to the copy of this machine, one is the photo conductor (drum, green cylinder ***'y) and the toner which fits in the drum ***'y.
you replaced the drum but you need to replace the toner as well (low toner)
then turn off and hold the start key an dturn on to get into service mode, scroll to reset photo count, select.

Printing problem

Pull out the color photo conductor unit. If you see lines on any of the green drums replace the color photo conductor unit. You can also get color registration errors if the transfer unit is scrached. my first recomendation is to look at the color pcu unit and replace it if you see any lines on it. Also pull out and inspect the black pcu unit.Let me know what you find.

If you blank stripes in the vertical plane, it would suggest that toner or other foreign material has got onto the laser lens. Remover the toner and photo conductor units and look for the glass panel above the laser unit. Clean this with a tissue or soft cloth. You should find this gets you away. If not then the photo conductor is the next suspect to replace.

Where best to look will depend a little on the nature of the smudge. If what you're looking at is white, then you might just have a little heap of toner or paper dust on part of the LED array that paints the picture onto the photoconductor drum (look for a narrow unit that stretches full width, adjacent to the drum. Dark marks may, if you're lucky, be down to dirt on charger wires. Both respond well to cleaning with a vacuum and a soft cloth (be very gentle if cleaning the wires). I would be inclined to trust the existing photoconductor unit unless you know it's been abused (e.g. by leaving it lying around in daylight) or the coating on the drum is visibly damaged. A.
