Copies are blank

I don't us it that often, so i've stored it in a closet. the last time i used it was last year and it was fine. I tested the toner and it is fine. when i make a copy with the top open, it will pick up the light and make a black copy. Can't figure out why the copies are blank even when i feed it thu the adf.

hi-- just wanted to make a copy of my signed car insurance forms   before sending them back to the insurance company. I was just trying to make "regular copies". I'm not connected to any computer.

hmmmm....could these problems occur right out of the blu???? with no malfunction issues, no error messages or no warnings of any kind? In many respects...even though I've had this copier for years, it's really only been used a handful of times....

Thank you so very much! I will do that!! I'll let you know what happens!!  Thanks again!!

This is most probably a problem with the laser unit on the printer. Try cleaning/replacing it. You will need to take it to a reair agent.

the drum is light sensitive and if one side was exposed to sunlight for as little as 20 seconds could have that effect , it is at best a shot in the dark (no pun intended)

How do I remove white streak from copy when i use my 3015?

Most common cause of this issue is low toner. Best solution is to remove the toner cartridge and while keeping it mostly level, shake it from side to side to level out the toner. Then re-install and test. If this fixes your issue then just be aware that the toner cartridge is starting to get low on toner.
Now if the white streak is very fine and the above procedure does not work then it is most likely something stuck to the scanner glass. To test for this print out a report from the operation panel or if you have the machine connected to a PC print something from there. Are your print outs ok? If so it means that it is definately something on the scanner glass. To locate it and clean it just make a copy of something. Now take that copy with the blank line on it and place it in the feeder just as you did with the original. now wherever the blank streak is lined up on the machine is where the spot is going to be on the scanner glass. Just open the cover where the documents go in and look for the strip of glass that runs from side to side. Your copy passes over this glass when it is scanned. Where the blank line hits this glass is where the trouble spot is. Just clean the glass with a cloth that has some glass cleaner sprayed on it. This should resolve the problem.

I replaced the cartridge and now it wont copy anything

If you mean blank copies then you either have installed a bad cartridge or perhaps you did not pull out the toner seal tape from the new cartridge before you installed it. If not then just remove the new cartridge and check one of the 2 ends of the cartridge for a small tape sticking out. Pull that out of the cartridge which will release the toner supply to the developer roller. Then re-install.
If you did this already then test for a bad cartridge by shaking the old toner cartridge back and forth a few times and put it back into the machine. It should work well enough to at least test for blank copies.

After replacing the tone, it does not copy.......at all!!

By "does not copy at all" do you by chance mean the paper comes out blank?
If so there are some things to check. First remove the new toner that you just installed and make sure you pulled out the long seal tape that holds the toner in the toner box.
If that is ok, then take the old cartridge and shake it from side to side a few times and re-install the old one back into the copier. Any change? If so then your new toner is bad. If they are still blank with both cartridges then you may have broken the laser shutter. Inside the port where the toner goes is a small plastic arm that opens a shutter when the cartridge is installed. These little arms can break and when the do the shutter door does not open and it blocks the laser light from getting to the cartridge and this causes the blank sheets.
Look inside the port where the cartridge goes up towards the top and look for a closed off slot in the black plastic looking box. The slot is about 1/4 high and runs from one side to the other. When found you can manually lift up the gate that has this slot closed off. Once opened you can take a small scrap of cardboard or folded up paper and block it open from the far right side. Do this if neccessary and re try the copies. If they come out fine then you will have found the cause. I have a few customers with this solution still working on their copiers for the last year.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Canon NP4050 putting out blank pages

The NP 4050 has been known for given blank copies... Is the developing unit locked in place... There is a Grey or blue lever inside the front door to the right... It is under the toner hopper. It's been along time... I believe the lever should be clicked to the right and up. Also there is a locking screw that holds it in place, Most times that screw is missing and the unit falls away from the drum unit and you get blank copies and the front door will close.. Good Luck

My al-1631 gives blank copies. just replaced toner. no warning lights of any kind. no message lights. it just prints out blank paper. could it be the drum? can't find instruction manual. purchased...

Was the copier working fine before you changed the cartridge? If so I think your cartridge is the problem. If it started making blank copies right after you changed it. If this is not the case the first thing I would say is it is not the drum. Try opening and closing the right side door. There are contacts in the door that will cause blank copies. I have had several customers do this and it fixed the problem. You can also try pulling out the toner and then pull the drum unit partially out and re-seat it. Then re-install the toner.
Good Luck

Konica 1015 copier has been in storage for 10 years

You need a drum cleaning blade. These blades will go bad if left unused for that much time. This part cleans all that toner off of the drum in between copies. Cheap part at about $25.00 to $35.00
Just google konica 1015 drum cleaning blade and you will find one.

Unfortunately this is a common HP thing. it seems to happen to all HP printers made in the last 4 years.

I see this all the time, and then the next page is just fine, HP can give no reason why it does this.

Blank Streak down left side of copy

One way to tell is to take out the toner cart and shake it, reinstall and test run. If it comes out better you may be running out of toner in the cart and will need to replace it shortly. The drum and toner cart on this machine are in the same unit.
Hope that helps...
