Hi,
i contacted toshiba and this what they have recommended, i am concerned whether it will be cost effective to repair.

''The Blue CRT is being driven at maximum brightness, it could be
components in the associated drive circuitry or more likely an internal
Short circuit of the Blue CRT itself.

I have not rectified the problem but would be interested in the cost of repair if any can give me an idea

Hope this helps others as well

regards

chris

I keep getting a blue screen on my Insignia TV. Cable box still shows the channel and I can change channels but nothing on screen. No sound either. This TV is not even 3 years old yet.

A blue screen indicates no video signal, if you change the video input to a DVD player is it still a blue screen? If yes then the TV is defective. If no then some how the signal is being lost to the TV from whatever source you use for watching broadcast TV

Fix blue screen av27870

Hi. Switch off (mains switch) the VCR. Then see if you can change channels with your TV remote. Blue screen mostly means that no channel has been programmed. If there is , you should at least have the sound. So, if you have sound, there is an internal problem in the TV. If no sound appears, try to get into setup mode (button Menu)
and programm your channels. I suppose there is signal on your normal areal connection. Check this out with another TV set, or use the tuner from you VRC. I know there are a lot of possibilities, but you can sort this out, step by step. Good luck.

Can the LG 990W VHS VCR receive digital TV signal

VCR is analogue, However you can still use it to record digital programmes when connected via a digital set top box. You can only record the channel you have selected on the screen. In other words, you cannot record a channel programme while watching another channel. I use mine on a second TV and when recorded I take the tape out and put it into my main TV for viewing at a later date. I don't watch too much TV so it works fine for me for the odd programme.

Tv screen has turned blue and I can't watch tv

i think by accident you have changed the input when you went to change the volume. look for a button labeled " input" or "video" select on the remote and scroll through the various choices. you should get your picture back.

Olevia LT27HVX 27 just blue screen

I just had this same problem over the weekend. Is your TV hooked up via HDMI?? Mine was and i've been having problems with the tv image shrinking whenever i turn on the tv, so i would have to change the channel 1 or 2 times for the image to come up normally. On Saturday I went to change the channel and then all of a sudden I hearld this loud pop and when the image came on it was just a sky blue screen, I couldnt see anything, but I could hear the channel. So I disconnected the HDMI and hooked up the tv with component cables I had and now it works fine. I ordered a new HDMI cable just to see if it will work again. If not, i'm calling Olevia.

Dvd burner

Can you try just running a/v cable from your tv output to the inputs on the ilo, then whatever you watch on your tv you can record on your dvd burner. My new SDTV doesnt have audio out except Coax so this won't work for me on that tv. Why doesnt the newer tv's have audio AND video outputs???

RCA tv

Check the signal type. It may be set incorrectly. Change the channel. You may be on a blank channel. Check to see if the TV is tuned to channel 3 or 4 if you are watching a videotape. Check the TV/VCR button on the VCR is in the correct mode by pressing the TV/VCR button on your VCR.

Multiple problems, hoping for one solution

sounds like it is probably worth trying to degauss check this excellent site; http://woil.ws/fixmonitor/ for details of how to try this on the cheap - it works If it doesnt solve your problem, the fact that you are getting different quality from different crt s suggests that they could be the root cause - see if you can get the part number, and get a price you may find it is cheap enough to be worth trying - check also the power supply - poor voltage output can sometimes cause these type of symptoms. Hope this helps, if not post again - some of the other guys know tvs much better than me :)
