Question about Optoma HD70 DLP Projector

1 Answer

Screen is not a true square: One verticle side shorter than other

I have Optoma HD71 PROJECTOR. The image from the projector is not a true rectangle image. The verticle sides are fine and the top horizontal side is also fine . The problem is with the bottom horizontal side. One end is slightly higher than the other (by 2 inches). That makes one verticle side shorter (by 2 inches) than the other. I have tried the V-Keystone button but it does not fix. What could be the problem? And how can I fix it? Thanks Dalip

Simply just manualy adjust the bottom of the screen by adjusting the distance by an inch or so.
Depending on what screen you have adjust it from behind or vith a thin thread

You're projector is most likely fine. Check your satellite box. Go to the menu and see how its set to display video. It may be trying to up-convert TV signals. Try different adjustments from there to see if you see any change.

I have a Optoma EP721. It now projects verticle lines on the screen background. How do you eliminate the verticle lines ?

It sounds like you have a projector which is in need of professional repair. You should eliminate source material problems first though by checking the projector with alternative input sources, ensuring that you also check the cables, and various inputs on the projector.
If the lines are present on all the inputs then the fault is internal to the projector. This will require professional repair. The first point of contact should be Optoma at (UK) or (USA). They should be able to give you an idea of ow much it may potentially cost to have your projector repaired and (most importantly) check whether it is under warranty. Most Optoma projectors ship with 3 year warranties these days.

I have an OPTOMA H27 projector, I am experiencing problems with the quality of the video images displayed. I set the focus by using the internal menu as an image reference. However when I view DVD/Video...

if u are using the composite video the try component video. composite video will dive u a dull image than component one. also check the distance between the projector an screen.Make sure the projection screen is between the required distance 4.9 to 40.7 feet (1.5 to 12.5 meters) from the projector.

The image of my optoma hd803 became inverted.

Go into menu settings, look for a menu item that has to do with screen size and orientation. You'll be looking for the option to rotate the image for mounting the projector upside down on a ceiling mount.

The picture on the screen is not square. one side is not the same length as the other 3.

either you have the keystone feature on, or the light tunnel is collapsing. go into the menu and reset the settings to factory default. if that doesn't help, adjust the keystone through the menu. if no change, replace the light tunnel.
