Check you have charged it for at least 30 minutes.
Press and HOLD the power button in the ON position for a slow count of 30.
Ignore whatever happens and just keep it held on.
Now go drink a cup of tea and let it calm down.

Now touch the power button as normal to turn on.

It will only fail if you fail to hold the power button in for a slow count of 30.
You MAY need to do this 2 or 3 times.

Depending on which device you have you will find the RETURN TO FACTORY option from HOME ./ MENU / SETTINGS / MENU (again) then about the 4th option down is Factory Reset.

I have a Google android tablet that will not unlock. It ask for my password but won't accept it What's wrong

When you forgot your password and/or security code; you can factory reset it (losing all data on it !) and - hopefully - restore backup of your data later.

Resetting the tablet 'forcefully' depends on the exact model; please see this official Google help page and pick your correct model: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/4596836?hl=en

How do you reset a ipad 2 when the screen won't turn on?

You can try to do a hard reset or a factory restore.

To try a hard reset, hold the home and power button down until the device turns off and the Apple logo appears on the screen.

To do a factory restore, connect your iPad to a computer with iTunes. Once connected, open iTunes and then click the factory restore button on the device settings.

Hope that helps!

Too many attempts to unlock and now it wants my gmail info but it won't take it and there is no internet connection( i don't know if that makes a difference. I tried to reset it but there is no menu option...

You'll need to do a factory reset:
1. With the device off, press and hold Volume Up and Power.
2. Release the Power button when you see the logo, but continue to hold Volume Up until the recovery screen appears.
3. Use the Volume buttons to navigate the menu and select wipe data / factory reset. Press Home to choose the selection.
4. Press Volume Up continue.

This will reset you device to factory settings, however anything on your SD card will still remain.
At this point you will need to start fresh as if you just bought the device -- register with your email address, etc.
