Vizio vw47lfhdtv10a, screen went black, still have audio and with a flashlight I can see images. ages.

If the picture is there but dark that means that your backlight has failed. Based on the age, this set likely uses a Cold Cathode for the backlight. The driver boards for these do fail over time and unless the tubes themselves have failed, likley a new backlight driver board will fix the problem. Check Ebay as a good source for parts.

I must have done something to my tv...not clear crisp pictures. ..kinda smokey picture...

Since you have a projection TV it has to be getting up there in age. Like a movie projector they use a halogen lamp to provide the image for your screen. With age they began to peter out and you picture becomes less focused and darker. Unless you have replaced the bulb in the last year or two its probably time to do it. Eventually there will be no picture at all.

Sony vaio yellow screen

It was caused by the aging of backlight lamp. If laptop is still in warranty, please visit near Sony Vaio Center and have them change the LCD backlight lamp. Otherwise a licensed computer technician needs to change the LCD backlight lamp.

Lcd monitor picture is fading

have you readjusted the contrast and brightness?

The backlights do age and lose light output in process. If several thousand hours of use- replace tubes. If it is quite new and less than 1000 hours, check the manufacturers web site to see if your model is one capable of being updated from your computer or removable drive, or even if it is one under recall.

There is even a chance there is a problem with the 3.3 volt buss, or the 5 volt buss, which means checking capacitors.

The screen is getting darker and darker after turn on. Tried to turn off and turn on again, the screen becomes ok, but soon it is getting darker again

I'm assuming this is a lcd tv. What you have described is typical of a backlight going out. It can be the backlight power supply or invertor going out as well. Depending on the tv size/model/age this can be repair for about $75-$100. It can on some models cost well over $400.

Sowhat you want to do is check for warrenty. Factory warrenty or extened store warrenty. If yu have any get it fixed. If not then you need to get a repair estimate from the service depot or a tv repair shop. You also want to know how much a replacement tv is worth. That way if the estimates are too high you should just get the replacement tv.

Trunk Hard to Close

Yes, the struts are probably bad. They can become hard to compress as well as lose air with age. Cost to replace should be less than 60 if you can turn the wrench.

Yes. As the magnetron (The microwave generator) ages with use it becomes less efficient. As such it produces less powerful microwaves and loses penetrating power:::Spiceweasel.au
