2002 jeep liberty motor-2.4 chain driven component below crankshaft need to find if position matters and how to time

no photos. so help will limited .
all cam timing matters.
"not sure what does", the cam, crank, sprocket or pin?
The 2.4L inline 4 engine, is a throw back old Dodge Neons
DOHC engine ,a twin cam head.
2002 is first year, Liberty in USA>
is this the 2.4L turbo engine, EDZ engine.??
KJ jeep it is.
be nice to say what job your working? HOw'd you get here?
if you buy the service manual from jeep
chapter 9s, covers this 2.4 total engine, in one chapter.
but this engine cams are Belt drive. NOT CHAIN.
first post that it really is, this engine? or the VIN, or photos.

so you must be confused on that is there.
the other engine, the 3.7L is a V6 engine vastly different than the 4 banger.
it has chains.
covered in chapter 9- page 71 +
this v6 has a counterbalancer too.
i recommend reading the FSM book on this engine , after counting cylinder, 4 or 6? and reading chapters 9 or 9s.

see KJ 2002 here
RTM read the manual

Diagram timing of v6 engine of liberty 2001 model

that v6 engine has no timing adjustment. it has a timing chain. so if there is a stretch on chain, it must be replaced according to factory service manual. only thing you need to watch is to mark the position of gears before you remove chain. also timing of ignition is maintained by engine controller. if you need a custom setup you need chip tuning for that.

I am trying to find timing chain marks for 2005 jeep liberty

o lord very difficult engine to time man. word of advise don't remove the primary oil pump chain. there are no marks. line the bigger oil pump sprocket DOT to 12 oclock if you have the chain lock tool this makes life a lot easier. Both of the cam sprocket have a V6 mark on it they should be at 12 oclock. If everything line up like that u are golden. Hope this helps. If you need step by step instrutions I will help.
