Install the Software which comes with the Camcorder, if u don't have one install atleast install the drivers from the JVC website...

You may need (if u don't have Original Disk from Camcorder) video editing ,capturing software (google for free versions ).

Once the software is installed , hook the usb cable to system and turn on the Camcorder..start the video software...follow the instructions...

hope it helps...keep the hope..:)

Using movie maker to upload from JVC GR-axm17u (older camcorder) Got it hooked up to pinnacle usb device. I see the movie clip on my PC but the quality is terrible. Looks great on my camera as it is...

The USB device may be converting the footage to a very compressed codec.
Computer playback is not intended for interlaced footage as the camera produces so this may impact on the viewing.
Converting Compact VHS is best done with an Analogue to Digital Converter over a firewire connection rather than a USB device if you wish to edit in Movie Maker.

How do I upload video footage from my JVC Cybercam GR-DVL520 onto the computer?

I believe you are trying to download video footage from your camcorder onto your pc. ( and not the other way around- from pc to camcorder).
If thats the case plug in your USB cable supplied with the camcorder onto your PC and which will register as a new drive on your system. For some cameras you need a special video capture card which needs to be plugged into your PC to allow video to be downloaded. An example is the IEE- firewire series. You will also require a simple video capture software to capture and save the video footage as a workable PC file. Try reading up on the brochure which came with your camera which I believe will provide more details. Normally video cams will come with such software and the necessary cables. Recent camcorders come with a harddisk & it is much simpler to download as such systems are recognized by a PC as just another new drive on the system. Try out the above and I believe you will be able to do it. Bye

I HAVE JVC GR-DX307 AS - how to save the video on my laptop or how to save it on dvd

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To save the video on a computer, a firewire connections must first be established from the JVC GR-DX307 AS to the appropriate firewire port of the laptop (assuming it has one or through a PCMCIA firewire adapter card if required). In the camera, the FireWire/DV port is located beneath the mode dial on the left side of the JVC GR-DX307’s body. To access the FireWire/DV port, the LCD monitor must be first opened.

Soon as that connection is established, you can use Windows Import Video (Vista) to capture / download the videos.

Alternately, the A / V port of the camera maybe used to connect to a DVD Recorder for direct, realtime copying & burning. For the disc to be playable in another machine, it must be finalized.

Good luck and thank yu for using FixYa.

JVC camera software GR-D70 for windows vista

Like most I have searched the web for drivers, preferably free ones. I emailed JVC Australia who responded with tis solution.

The camera has a connection called DV. The DV connection is used with a cable called Firewire.
Firewire is a driver less cable and will allow you to stream you video footage across from the camera to your PC.

USB is used for data transfer and need drivers, you would use this mainly to transfer still images or data files off a HDD camera.
If you use firewire and the DV connection you will stream the footage across to the PC and the PC will capture the footage as it is playing.

The firewire is about $15 and can be purchase from stores such as **** Smith, Bing Lee, Harvey Normans and Tandy. I would suggest that you take a photo of the connections on your PC as there are two types of DV connections. (4pin - 6pin)

JVC GR D250U

This camcorder should not require a driver in order to capture the footage. Start up your capture software, power-up the camera in VCR mode and then connect the Firewire cable. It should then allow you to playback the tape and capture the contents.
Here is the manual online:
http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/94/LYT1353-001A.pdf
If you need a simple program to capture the footage look to: http://www.virtualdub.org/

Your video-editing software (including Windows Movie Maker) should also capture the footage.

I can't copy my videos to my computer/CD's.

We too are having this problem. When we open our editing software, on the pc, to communicate with the camera, the camera responds with the pc, although there is no picture image showing on the pc and as a result we can't capture any video footage.

We are planning to try a different firewire cable, to assess whether that is the issue.
