Question about Computers & Internet
The microphone is a very small hole, it tends to be located next to the camera on the monitor.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

This is due to the drivers. This will require a kernel build and the drivers to be checked. check the Ubuntu forums for a kernel build for your Acer there should be a script to correct this already written.

You can try these steps :
1. Goto Start >> Control Panel >> Sounds >> Recording.
2. Open the 'Microphone Properties' from the list of devices.
3. Change the status of 'Device Usage' to "Use this device (Enable)".
4. Apply settings and close the window.
5. If still the Microphones are not working, try to reinstall the Audio / Sound drivers. Restart your system.
please rate this advice if it helps.....tc! :)

SOURCE: where do i get the
Your monitor doesn't need drivers, it's just a source which displays an image projected by your video card. Some monitors will come with firmware upgrades, but you will only get those if you contact the manufacturer and the manufacturer has a reason to give it to you.
If you are looking for drivers, then you will want to upgrade the drivers for your video card. You can find out which video card you are using by going to Start > Control Panel > Device Manager > Display Adapter. For example, I have an NVIDIA 260. What I would do is go to NVIDIA's website and download/install the latest drivers for the NVIDIA 260.
If you have a video card that's built onto the motherboard, then you need to instead go to your computer manufacturer's website. They should have drivers under their Support and Downloads section. All you need to do is locate the model of your computer and download the appropriate drivers. You can locate the model by going to Start and right clicking on My Computer.
Hope this helps.
