Question about HP OfficeJet 6210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My printer will not turn on.

I took it to a computer/pinter shop and the cord was checked and it was okay. When it is plugged up no power is getting to the printer.

Replacing the Main Logic board will solve this problem. It might be mre economical to replace the machine though.

Why wont my lg 50 plasma tv turn

Perhaps replace your power cord. Borrow power cord from repair shop. If it works it's the cord. Also if the TV is plugged into power bar make sure the power bar hasn't been inadvertently turned off.

We had a power outage, now pixma Mx410 won't come on, any ideas?

Is pinter plugged into a power strip? Try plugging directly into wall. Make sure wall outlet is working correctly, try another item in plug in. Does printer have a power module or brick that is plugged into printer? That power module is there to protect your printer during a power surge, it may need to be reset. Is there a light on that brick or power module? If so, does it light up? If not, could be a bad power module. There is no such thing as "reset" button, so don't look there...It will have to be reset in a series of ways for an "external" module.
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
  3. If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, disconnect the cord from the power module.
  4. Wait 15 seconds.
  5. If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, reconnect the power cord to the power module.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  7. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
  8. Check to see if the power module or the power cord has an indicator light and if it is on
For an internal module:
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
  3. Wait 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  5. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
  6. Check to see if the power module has an indicator light.
Not sure if this will help you..but worth a try.....

I cannot turn it on...when I use the same cord on other printer/scanner, the cord is still okay..so this means that the problem is on the printer/scanner....kindly advise what to do....

Since the power cord works on a different scanner, this means the power supply unit inside the printer has failed. In most cases, this costs more to fix/repair than a new printer.

Led lite on power module turns on but when you plug the module into printer it goes off and printer won't tunr on hp c6180

Check the logic board for failed capacitors. My C6180 started showing ink system failure messages and eventually would power on and off every 20 seconds or so. This was caused by a few failed capacitors on the logic board. i the attached picture of my C6180 logic board you can see the bulging tops of 2 capacitors (indicating failure). I replaced 4 capacitors (cost ~ 60cents) and the pinter is working great. If you are not comfortable doing a little soldering, you will have to find some help (took my 25 minutes).

My Lexmark x9350 only turns on and off if I plug and unplug...

This, probably, is a power issue on the printer. Unplug the printer from the computer. Unplug the power supply from the printer (it's the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached). Try not to use any power strips or extensions for the power cord. If possible, plug the power cord straight to the wall outlet. With the power cord plugged in straight to the power outlet, plug the power supply back in the printer. That should refresh the printer. When everything's powered on, plug printer to computer. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.

Photo tray problem C5180 push output tray all the way down

I had the problem today and searched everywhere and only found the question posted about five different places but no answers. I'm obviously not the only person who has had this problem. HP's website offered no advice.

I spent some time with HP's "live chat" feature. Obviously not live, but fixed the problem.

Here's the discussion that solved my problem:

Von : Without turning the product off, remove the power cord from the back of the product.
Wait 30 seconds and then plug the power cord into the back of the product.
If the product is not already on, use the On button to turn it on.

Lance Goodthrust : did that

Lance Goodthrust : came back on and had the same error message

Von : Okay.

Von : Lets perform the steps.Von : Use the On button to turn on the product.
Remove the power cord from the product.
Press and hold the # and 6 buttons.
While holding the buttons down, connect the power cord to the product.
Continue to hold the buttons down until the color graphics display becomes blank, then release the buttons.
Use the On button to turn on the product. The reset information appears on the color graphics display.

Lance Goodthrust : okay, give me a few

Lance Goodthrust : printer is in other room

Von : Okay.

Lance Goodthrust : That seems to have solved the problem.

Lance Goodthrust : Thanks.

Von : Okay. Its alright.

Printer wont turn on

First things to check are that the power cord is properly plugged in and the socket it turned on (yes, sounds obvious but has caught me out in the past).

Beyond that, if your cable has a fuse in the plug, check that... try a different power cord and obviously check that the socket does indeed work.

Locating a working power socket and new cable that you know works and then seeing if that gives you any juice is the only other option... If that doesn't work your printer would appear to be in printer heaven.

Computer will not turn on at all. Dell Dimension 5100 desktop

I would unplug the power supply from the motherboard, wait a little while and then plug it back in.
Try to power everything back up and it should come up.

I am assuming you are getting a light on the motherboard that indicates power is being supplied?
