You need to replace the dryer belt.

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Screwdriver
  • Amana dryer belt
  1. Step 1 Disconnect the power source from the dryer. You can unplug from the wall outlet, remove the fuse from the fuse box or flip the breaker in the panel box.
  2. Step 2 Pull off the front panel of the dryer. Remove the screw in each corner at the bottom of the dryer's front panel. Lift up the front panel until the two clips at the top disengage. Remove the two screws that are found beneath it at the corners to remove the cabinet top.
  3. Step 3 Remove the belt by releasing the tension applied by the movable idler pulley wheel. The belt loops over the drum, under the idler pulley wheel and then around the motor's drive pulley.
  4. Step 4 Discard the used belt. It is fine to just throw it in the trash.
  5. Step 5 Install the new belt by pushing in on the idler pulley arm. Make sure the new belt is placed flat along the exterior of the drum.
  6. Step 6 Replace the screws back into the dryer's front panel. Screw them in tightly so that the panel will not fall off or jiggle loose.
  7. Step 7 Reconnect the power source back to your dryer. Either plug it back in or flip the switch in the breaker box.

I need to replace the belt in my GLER341AS2 model Frigidaire dryer. How do i open up the dryer to do so?

Unplug the dryer and using a 1/2 inch pait scraper locate the spring loded clips holding the top down to the front of the cabnet. They are located about one to two inches from the front corners of the dryer.
Lift the top and rest it on the wall behind the dryer.
Looking inside the dryer locate the screws holding the front panel to the cabnet and remove the screws.
Mark the wires to the door switch and remove.
Remove the front panel.
Go behind the dryer and remove the small rear panel near the bottom of the dryer.Observe how the belt is attached to the pulleys.Release the tention on the belt by moving the belt tentioner and sliding the belt off the motor pulley.
Go to the front of the dryer and grab the belt on the top of the dryer drum. Holding the belt lift the drum straight out holding the drum with the belt.
Check to see if all the rollers are in good shape and rotate freeley. Oil if needed.
Check to see if the teflon gliders located on the front panel that hold the drum are in good shape. Replace if needed.
Vaccum the inside of the dryer.
Put the new belt over the drum and line the drum up and install back into the dryer.
Put the front panel back on and reinstall the two screws.
Replace the door switch wires.
Make sure the grooves on the belt are flat to the dryer drum
Put the top down and go behind the dryer'
Locate the belt.
Pinch the belt and insert it under the tention pulley and slide it over the motor pulley. Make sure the belt is positioned straight and located where the old belt was positioned on the drum.

Fisher & Paykel DEGX1 dryer has popped off its belt

The inside of the dryer is accessed by going in from the front. To do this: 1) Disconnect the Dryer from the wall plug before starting to remove covers. (Safety first, always)
2) There are two plastic plugs towards the front of the top cover. Remove thes by prying up on the side of them with a small screwdriver. Then remove the two Phillips Head screws beneath the plugs. This will allow you to raise up the top of the dryer. Be very careful and do not let the top lid fall backwards behind the dryer or everything attached will get ripped out. Have some help on hand to assist you.
3) Once the top cover is up, you can pull the front cover off. It clips into the side panels with plastic clip which align the side covers. Pull the front cover forward slightly, then push out on the side covers and the front cover will come off. There will be a green ground wire that attachs to this cover that will have to be removed. Set the cover out of the way.
4) If the belt is just derailed off the dryer tub, you should be able to remount the belt at this point.
5) Reverse the procedure and put the dryer back into service.
6) IF the belt comes off again, I recommend changing the belt because it is probably warped, pulled, or otherwise distorted.

Need to know how to replace the belt on my dryer

Take off front and put belt over drum. Reinstall front. Take small access panel off back to install belt on motor. Idler pulley pushes against belt to tension it. Thanks, please leave feedback or contact me again for more info if you need it.

Belt broke on GE Dryer model #DDE7500BALWH

You will need a WE12X82P belt, or just a WE12x82 (the P stands for packaged)
  • Disconnect power
  • Remove screws under the front edge of the dryer top
  • Swing top up and remove one screw from each side panel holding the dryer front, near the top of the dryer.
  • Pull dryer front forward a bit and lift off bottom pegs. Swing to the side. (no need to disconnect wires if you don't want to)
  • Put belt around drum, lifting drum a bit to get belt past drum support slides on the bottom side.
  • Check to make sure drum slides are not worn through, especially the one on the left side.
  • The grooved side of the belt touches the drum
  • Belt runs from drum directly to motor pulley on the left side, then around belt tensioning wheel and back to the drum.
  • Turn the drum a revolution or two (counter clockwise) before reassembly.

Dryer belt replacement

Take the top panel off by slideing a putty knife about 2 inches in at the front and releasing the tabs. remove screws from top of front panel after top removed. also remove 2 screws from inside of front panel on both sides about 4 inches down screwing back into front panel. pull front off and slip belt through opening. Feed belt around drum and put tension on the idler spring release onto belt. reassemble unit.
