How do you troubleshoot input errors eth is UP, line protocol is UP Hardware address is Ip address is XXX.X.X.XX, netmask is 255.255.255.0 MTU is 1500 bytes, BW is 100000 Kbit 100Mb/s, half-duplex ARP...

You have input errors but no output errors, and your link is showing half duplex.
The device connected may be set at full duplex, but this is in fact normal for half duplex connections which do NOT allow send and receive at the same time. Ensure both ends are set to full duplex.

Genius LAN 16 Port Hub Dropping connections intermittently

Col probably means Collisions. There are probably collisions going on on your LAN. Collisions can happen when there are two adapters with the same IP address or when there's a bad cable. My suggestion is that you make sure that you have unique IP addresses and that you don't have any bad cables - cable tester comes in handy.

Dynamic IP address

Dynamic ipaddress - is temporary, the ip changes when you disconnect for example.

Normal, or static ip - It's the same address from day to day.

Xoom x6 adsl modem problem

possible issue with freequent connection loss when going over 2 comp on a network are possible issues of collisions on the network meaning that sometimes more often then not, it is possible for two comp to end up recieving same ip address fr modem.

solution: first find out ip range supplied by the router in modem. then statically assign ip address to each comp

this is done by going into tcp/ip properties of either nic or wireless card and set to use following ex

NOTE: IP RANGE USUALLY LAST SET OF NUMBERS IN IP ADDRESSING TIPPICAL RANGE IS BETWEEN 10 TO 99

ip address: 192.168.2.12 (static ip address for computer)

subnetmask: 255.255.255.254 (generic subnetmask)

default gateway: 192.168.2.1 (ip address of router)
