SOURCE: how do you return the

if this is the SYNET07526:
Did you try the reset button on the back? about 1in. diagonally from the right lower corner of the data plate. insert a tooth pick in the little hole and hold for about ten seconds with the power plugged in. This should reset it to the factory specs.

If that does not work then you may have to flash the system. If you decide to do this, see my TIP at:

Forgot password for my ocean netbook

Hi there, my name is Lisa and I'd be happy to do my best to help.

The only thing I can think to suggest is a fresh install.

To do a fresh install (you will lose files) try tapping /holding the F11 key immediately after powering on the laptop to boot into Recovery partition on HDD to start over with a fresh Factory settings. If you are offered System Restore at any point, decline and choose System Recovery instead.

You can take a look at the following ink to see if you can find an alternate solution. I didn't read through the entire article but it looks like it might be helpful:

I hope this helps.

Restore to factory settings

The Acer Aspire One is a netbook, not a laptop.
A netbook is a smaller, scaled-down version of a laptop. It does not have the memory capacity or graphics of a regular laptop.
It also lacks a CD drive, which means you cannot restore the Acer Aspire One with restore discs. Instead, the netbook has a built-in factory restore feature.
You can reset the Acer Aspire One to factory settings just using your keyboard.
Only restore your netbook to factory settings if you cannot fix the problem any other way.
Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives.
Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive.
Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook.

Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen.
The recovery menu will load.
Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options.
Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears.
Reboot the netbook when you are prompted.
Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

Hi I have just tried to set up my son's ocean netbook. I seem to have locked the keyboard somehow!! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Locked as in it doesn't accept input? Some laptops will have physical buttons on them for disabling the touchpad and keyboard. Please list the make and model if you need further help.

Thanks

Green blinking screen every second i tried factory settings but did not work i only bought this netbook 3 days ago never used it much

Hello.

If you bought this netbook new, return it quickly to where you purchased it, for a replacement or a refund. If you are having problems so soon, this indicates real problems - get a replacement. Within 7 days, the store / suppler should take it back. Usually, after 7 days (or 30 days, depending on the supplier), if problems occur, then you would need to return it to the manufacturer.

Hope this helps.

How can I return to the original system software that was in my Sylvania Netbook? Thank you. Jerry Kleker

Hi and welcome to Fixya!

To return to the original settings of the netbook, just follow this step;

When you turn the machine on, as soon as the very first screen appears press F11. It should take you straight to factory restore settings.

Restoring the machine back to factory settings will erase all changes (including personal files) on the machine so its better that you backup your files all the time.

Hope this helps!
