SOURCE: connections of cables

If you are unable to to find out what cable goes where look on the motherboard and sometimes its printed in small setters and abbreviated. Usually if you have hooked up these connectors before on other computers they are usually arranged the same for almost every model and brand of motherboard and chassis so i recommend just guess doing trial and error.

Again If you are unable to find any labels, just play around and do it by trial and error, this will not damage any of your hardware since this will not cause and overvoltage or short circuit, all these cable connections are only for switches and LED's which hardly use and current or voltage so electrically doing this by trial and error is safe trust me.

I only recommend this if you are unable to find a documentation from manufacturers for the motherboard.

Can I and how do I hook a subwoofer to my Sony str-de705 receiver

It depends. You can connect an active (self-powered) sub-woofer to the STR-DE705. You can't connect a passive sub-woofer that needs power from the receiver. If the sub-woofer has its own power cord, then it's an active unit. See https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37001 for more information. You'll also need a RCA subwoofer cable. This is like a RCA audio cable but only has one plug on each end. (Using a regular audio cable may risk a short when the extra plugs hit something.) Many subwoofers will come with the audio cable. If you do need one, they are available at most places that sell cables, including Amazon.com .

Here is an example of an active subwoofer: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37001 . This is the Yamaha YST-SW012.

I hope this helps.

MX6050D Subwoofer Issues

Hello, welcome to Fixya!

Fault is either from the main system or the sub-woofer itself.

You need to test both unit in order to detect which of the two is giving the fault, so that you can concentrate on the faulty unit.

Test the woofer with a AA battery or any other battery. Put your ears close to the woofer and observe if you will hear any sound. If the woofer makes sound, then it means the woofer is working, but if it doesn't make sound, then it means the woofer is defective. Or you can disconnect one of the working speakers and connect the woofer to that part. If there is no sound, then obviously, the woofer is defective.

If the woofer seem to be working, then the unit needs to be tested also.

Connect one of the working speakers to the sub-woofer's section of the main unit. If the speaker doesn't bring out sound, check the system's menu settings, check the volume and make sure the sub-woofer volume is raised to the highest level and not on mute. ( Note that most Theater systems has separate volumes for each speakers). If the volume is raised to the highest level and there is still not sound from the woofer part, then it means the woofer channel has burnt. It could be a fuse or a defective channel. At this point, I think you need help from a repairman.

I hope the above is clear.

Regards.

I have a Bose powered sub woofer, which I would like to connect to a pioneer receiver, the subwoofer (model 2683) connection has a four pronged connection (yellow white red blank) and the receiver has a...

Hi,sorry but you can not connect it directly like other sub-woofers..
Bose 2683 Powered Subwoofer is part of Bose Lifestyle 5 system, Please note that you will need the 5-pin DIN cable that connects the subwoofer to the base or "Music Center". and the 4 pronged connections for its own stereo speaker output not input from another stereo..
Sorry....but if you can arrange some handy man nearby ,he may get into the DIN cable to locate the subwoofer signal 2x input leads than you can use that leads for connecting into single sub woofer out let of your system...otherwise try to sell BOSE which can easily buy brand new up to date powered sub..
.

Establishing computer speakers includes networking to the devices from where media from be derived either as computers stereos of media players. First, the speakers require connection established between each component sound producing device that has an impression in generation capacity. Second, the speaker device have a box usually the woofer as central area with power cuicuit features. Connectable cables are power cuicuit related expected to extend from the woofer to the power outlet. Also, the woofer board would require as last connectivity, the cable attacchment to the devices that produce sound either as stereo music medis players, digital media displayers among mentionable media devices.

I have jvc car audio model # kd-g335 how to connect my sub woofer?

You can not connect the subwoofer directly to your head unit. You need an amplifier installed to play the sub woofer. Asuming that there is an amplifier installed then: If your head unit has an RCA output on the rear, connect that to the LINE IN of your amplifier. Also there should be a Blue&White cable at the rear of the head unit.(amplifier remote) That should be connected the the remote terminal on the amplifier. (this will turn the amp on and off when the head unit turns on or off) Hope this helps. dreamsystems

How do you install the hk-401sx amplifier?

A 4 Gauge or even better a 2 Gauge power cable Starting from the Battery going thru a fuse block which should not be more than 12 inches away from the battery then to the battery connection on your amplifier the states 12V. A similar gauge cable connected from the GND negative (minus) of the amplifier to a good clean and cleared of paint location on the chassis somewhere in the boot (secure well) A cable connected form the blue and white cable at the back of your head unit to the remote input of your amplifier which is next to the speaker outputs on your amplifier and clearly indicates REMOTE. A stereo RCA interconnect from the output of your head unit to the line in of your amplifier. Best if there is a dedicated sub woofer output. You then connect your sub woofer. dreamsystems

Power to subwoofer but no power to SA-HT692 receiver.

I had the same problem although not in storage but it just lost power to the console. It turns out that when I press down on the cable connecting the sub woofer and console, at the back of the sub woofer, I temporarily get power to the console. I did that for long enough to eject my DVD's and then opened the back of the sub woofer to fix it and cracked the board and broke it forever.

Gurus, I just bought Samsung Home Theater System which i connected to my Hitachi TV with HDMI cable. I have a Optical Cable going from HT to my TV Optical port. I have another connection from my cable

On the remote control for the Samsung Home Theater System look at the bottom left to a button that says "MODE", those moods change the sound each speaker gives off. if that doesn't work, you might need new wiring because there are other wires that are more durable than the ones that come with it, much better too.

You could try an ordinary VGA cable. I just buzzed my cable out, and it's connected straight through, pi for pin, just like a VGA cable.
