Something is probably restricting the brush roll which is causing the clutch to ratchet.

SOURCE: Dyson making loud noise

If your brushroller isn't spinning it will make the loud sound. Try removing the brushroll and reinstalling it. If this doesn't work, you may need a new brushroller. You can find one here...

Just bought a DC33. Multi-floor.It is very hard to push on the carpeting. It is fine on the wood floors. Is there any way to adjust it higher for the carpeting. It is dense carpet not high

There are no floor settings for this unit. Since the brush is spinning, it will create more resistance when running over the carpet.

I can't push my Dyson Dc33 on my new carpet..it works backwards ok but not pushing forward?

Hi Fran, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC33 is engineered to work effectively on both hard and carpeted flooring. The cleaner head is engineered to adjust automatically for different floor types and carpet piles. You can also turn off the brush bar for hard floors and delicate rugs, using the brush control on the cleaner head.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty pushing your machine forward on this particular type of new carpeting. If your DC33 worked effectively before the new carpeting was fitted, it doesn't sound like there's an issue with the vacuum itself. However, we'd appreciate the opportunity to take some further details about the issue, and may be able to suggest a resolution. You may also want to consider contacting the carpeting manufacturer directly, as they should be able to recommend the best way of caring for this specific carpeting.

When you have your DC33 easily to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

No suction on my Dyson dc33.

Hi Ronald, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulty you've had with your DC33. However, performance issues are usually very easy to resolve with some quick troubleshooting checks.

It may be best if you can get in touch with us directly so we can help further - it's hard to diagnose the exact cause of a noise without hearing it.

If you give our freephone Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US), our experts will be happy to run you thought some diagnostic checks. If the machine needs a repair or a replacement part, they can confirm if this will be covered under the terms of the 5-year guarantee which covers all of our upright and cylinder vacuums.

We'll look forward to hearing from you.

Sounds like the beater bar hits the front plastic makes a loud awful noise

    Hi Cathy,

Your DC33's brush control is designed to make a ratcheting sound to warn you if something is jamming the brush bar. You should be able to resolve this by making sure the cleaner head is free of any obstructions, and removing any threads or hair from around the brush bar. For guidance in doing this, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

    http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc33/dc33-multi-floor/dc33-maintaining-your-dyson-machine/how-to-remove-a-blockage/from-the-brushbar/removing-debris-from-the-brushbar

This should resolve the issue, but if you're still concerned about the machine after following these steps, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US), so we can provide further assistance.
