Question about Tusk Yamaha Rhino 660 4x4 Auto 04-07 Oil Filters 5

Open Question

Yamaha rhino problem engine idles with no distress, dies when accelerated.

Hi people was running 1/2 to 2/3 speed when engine coughed & died. Engine now will crank up idle efficently but engine misses coughs & stalls when it is accelerated. Will not move from tracks. Changed brain & no change. Could it be a head gasket blown? Just a guess no proof. Thanks in advance for any help.

Engine cranks up idles good won't accelerate

sounds like a restricted exhaust pipe ,remove the pipe from motor just to see if the motor power returns under throttle if so replace the pipe and gaskets

Car starts running rough at idle, eventually quits running. Has new plugs, wires, cap, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, IAC Valve, and gas cap.

Back then, Honda suggested timing belt replacement every 60,000 miles. If your Honda has that much mileage or more and has never had the belt replaced, now may be the time.

I have a 2004 60 hp yamaha 2 stroke outboard engine that doesn't start or run well. Once warm and in the water it will idle in nuetral and also in gear. It accelerates in neutral but will die or lack power...

Every sympton you are describing here can be attributed to fuel starvation due to blocked jets and or water in carbs, when your engine dies does it die with dry plugs, or wet oily ones?

My vstar 1100 dies when in idle. acceleration is fine. driving, shifting, everything else is fine. when the bike is coming down to idle, it dies

Is the idle speed set too low? If so, adjust it, using the idle speed adjusting screw, to the correct idle speed (900 RPM). If that's not the problem, then check for air leaks between the carburetors and the engine by spraying WD-40 around the intake manifolds with the engine running. If there is an intake leak, the engine RPM will change briefly when the WD-40 is sprayed near it.
Aside from that, there are two other things that can cause your engine to die when it should be idling: the idle speed mixture adjustment, or low cylinder compression. Of course, if it was idling fine before, and the idle mixture adjustment hasn't been changed, then do a compression check, first. To idle properly, each cylinder's compression needs to be at least 140 psi.
