Fixing film assembly may need to be replaced if error cannot be cleared. Fixing error codes should be reset by a professional only. Fuser assembly must be examined before resetting the E000, E001, E003 and E007 codes. Enter the service mode this way: Press "Additional Function" key, Press "2" and "8" simultaneously, press "Additional Function" key again.
Go to COPIER----FUNCTIONS-----CLEAR----ERR. Here your tech can reset the error codes. Then turn machine off & on again.
Title : E001 Error Code That is Not Resetable Error : paper jam When the machine powers
up the E001 error code is displayed but cannot be reset. (Note: The reset
procedure for an E001 code is COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR) Workaround
: In this case, the Main Power Supply PCB Assembly was replaced. The machine
was powered up and the E001 code was able to be reset. The part number for the
Main Power Supply Assembly is FM2-0260-000. Remember, if the fixing unit
circuitry has an open or a short, the code may not reset. Be sure to confirm
the fixing unit wiring and try resetting the code before replacing the Main
Power Supply Assembly. Canon USA, Inc. Systems & Technical Support
E001 0000 Abnormally high temperature (detected by main thermistor) The main thermistor detected an abnormally high temperature (240 deg C) during temperature control. - Check the connector of the fixing film unit. - Replace the fixing film unit. - Replace the DC controller PCB.
E001 0001 Abnormally high temperature (detected by sub thermistor) The sub thermistor detected an abnormally high temperature (295 deg C) during temperature control. - Check the connector of the fixing film unit. - Replace the fixing film unit. - Replace the DC controller PCB.
E808 0000 Fixing drive circuit failure - The heater does not turn on. - A fixing drive motor failure was detected. - Check the connector of the fixing film unit. - Replace the fixing film unit. - Replace the fixing drive motor. - Replace the DC controller PCB. - Replace the power supply PCB.
This is a reprint from another tech, he was right on with this...
okay lets shed some light on the E000 error code on the D680, D880, IR1300 family ( including the 1310,1330,1370,1630,1670) The error code E00 is a memory threshold error what it means is your machine has logged 4 of the following errors, E001,E002, or E003. It is a lockout error and the machine cannot be used until the problem has been repaired or the errors cleared. First lets look at the errors: E001 fuser over temp means the fixing assy has exceeded the manufactures maximum temp limits E002 fuser temp dropout means the fixing assy has cooled below a set point during a copy session E003 fuser no response means the fixing assy didn't even attempt to warm up at power on How to fix, most common problem is bad power setting 4 E002's either brown outs of brief power failures. To clear the error, Enter service mode by pressing additional functions then the # button, use the left or right arrow buttons to scroll to #7 printer press set. again use the arrow buttons to scroll to #4 printer reset press set. press the appropriate arrow key under the YES to clear the error. unplug the copier and reboot. At this time normal function should return if not and it resets a E00 the you can assume either the fixing assy is bad or either the power supply PCB or DC controller is bad and it is getting E001,E003 errors. At that point id call a qualified tech to research the problem to avoid spending money on excess parts
