The best way to get the sound you want coming out of the pa is to mic up your cab. That way you can perfect the sound you want in the cab using its own controls, plus any outboard gear you are using. Position the mic half way between the centre of the cone and the outer edge of the speaker. You have to try different mics to see what you prefer but you could start off with a Shure SM57 and you'd be sound!
