I have a payne airhandler blower motor want come on blower model 5sme390x

Many air handlers have a safety switch on the filter access cover panel, our on the electric control panel. The switch may not be making contact, try moving the cover to try making the south work, or remove the cover and verify there is a switch, a button switch and operate it by hand with the a.c. on, user caution with rotating parts.

I bought a new thermostat that requires a C wire. I have a spare wire in the cable that goes from my thermostat to my air handler. It's a Model B3BM-O36K-B Frigidaire model air handler.

At your AHU there may be a terminal block that has a C terminal. If not, you will need to locate C. Your outdoor units control wire should have 1 that connects to the Y signal allowing 24v to pass from Y at the t-stat to a wirenut at the air handler, from that wirenut to the contactor. And C comes from the contactor to a wirenut at the airhandler and to C side of transformer. Common wire colors from o.d.unit are red=24v and White from the o.d. unit, (NOT THE WHITE FROM T-STAT!) is the common. The transformer may also have a tag/sticker that states 24v and common with a color of wire for C. And if the t-stat takes batteries that you need to install, you shouldn't need C wired in. C is there so you don't need batteries, if it has a battery option.

I have a Payne Rooftop Gas Heater that had a bad thermostat, and when I replaced the thermostat I believe that I shorted a wire and blew the low voltage fuse on the 24v system when I had the wires hoo

Go to the air handler and look near the transformer for a 3 amp blown fuse. Pull it out and put a new one in (it resembles a fuse used in cars).

Payne air handler with possible GE X13 Failure

Check your dip switch settings on tonnage and your CFM per ton settings. Also make sure they wired the the low voltage for cooling to Y and not YLO if its a single stage compressor system.

Generally, you would go from the thermostat to the air handler, and then, from the air handler to the outdoor unit. I don't know if you have a heat pump or not, so I will give you a simple diagram and you can contact me if you need more.

Thermostat : Y G R W and sometimes C
Air handler: Y G R W and C
Outdoor unit: two wires connecting to the contactor ( not heat pump)

Thermostat; Y--------------Y(air handler cooling)------------------one side of contactor, outdoor unit
G-------------G (air handler, fan)
R--------------R (air handler ,hot)
W-------------W (air handler, heat)
C--------------C (air handler, common)------------other side of contactor, outdoor unit

This is a typical wiring diagram. Just contact me if you have something different. Hope this helps. Stay cool. mark

Townhouse ac/heater combo won't start

I am not familiar with this air handler, but I haven't found too many with fuses. You just blow the transformer... but if you found a place that says there is a fuse, maybe there is.
If you can use a volt meter, check the voltage between the red and blue wire in the thermostat. It should be 24 volts AC. If it is there, your problem is something else... Some might suggest you use a short jumper wire from the red to the green and see if the fan comes on to check your 24 volts if you don't have a meter, but I would never suggest that...
If you determine that the 24 volts is not there then you should find that transformer in the air handler and follow the leads out and see if they lead to the fuse, if it exists. You might consider that the transformer is bad if you can't find a fuse. If able, check the primary for your supply voltage, 115 or 230 volts AC, and the secondary, 24 volts AC.
If your lucky, someone that is familiar with this model will answer with all the locations, etc...
Always be careful when working with electricity. If you decide to get into the air handler to troubleshoot your transformer, turn off the breaker while exploring and only turn it back on when you are ready to make voltage measurements and are confident that you know what you are doing.
