Question about Pyle Pro - PTCDS1U - Home Ptcds1u Classical Turntable With

My PTCDS1U just started playing too slowly despite my attempts to adjust the speed

The plate the record sits on seems to be wobbly & my records are playing to slowly. I adjusted the speed from 33 to 45 but that causes them to play way too fast. This record player has worked great for the last year. I even adjusted the transit screw with no luck.

Is this a belt drive turntable? If so, replace the belt - its slipping.

Try cleaning the heads, but it seems like the heads may be faulty, you might need to replace the vcr, they don't cost much these days, the repair might cost more than a new vcr these days.

heres a cheap headcleaner, look for one at local shops, wallmart bestbuy and so on

Troy built storm 2890 snowblower slow in reverse

There is an inspection pan on bottom of snow blower remove the 2 or 4 bolts and drop pan
inside you will see an aluminum wheel (drive wheel) also a rubber faced wheel whitch runs on the aluminum wheel at a right angle (like a needle runs on a record on a record player.
Clean plate and rubber wheel using brake clean to degrease surface .
Also there is an adjustment to move the rubber wheel farther to the left for more reverse speed but in doing that you might lose top speed forward.

If it does this when playing a 12 inch record then it could be that the device has been set to play a 7 inch record. The skating across is either a worn stylus, wrong skate setting (if it has one) or not enough stylus pressure. To correct the pressure one. Make tiny adjustments to the weight on the end of the arm. Each time you need to test by playing a record. If it sits in the groove and doesn't skate, plus doesn't make a rumble sound, you have the pressure right. Too much pressure causes it to rumble, too little and it will leave the groove. If the weight is numbered try it at 3, then take it up to 4 + in small steps, testing it each time you move up. It's a case of trial and error to get it right.

Playing records too slowly

It's likely that the belt has moved off where it should be. If the stylus was damage it would slide across the record or cause poor sound. It would not affect the speed unless there was too much pressure on the stylus, but you would feel that as the head of the arm would feel heavy.

Record skipping despite new needle

It could be something to do with the turnatable's platter. Is the matt that the record sits on faulty. Does the platter wobble up and down with no record on it? If you can see this happening you might need to check the platter out. If it's a belt driven the belt can come out of position causing such problems. Also objects can get stuck inside the platter. Especially if you have small children in the house!!!
