Question about Samsung Televison & Video
I have a HL-S5086 DLP TV. In the past week two small white dots have appeared on the screne and haven't gone away. There is also an occational delay when I'm turning on the TV, and it makes a noise like something maybe going out in the back. What is the problem??
Hi I am vortash weird noise would you say it was a fan or that type of sound it could be your colour wheel . the spots may be particles of debris from the wheel being amplified by the light and the lens .. without looking it.s hard to say .. if the sound is coming from the rear it may be electrical arcing from the lamp ballast or a warped fan blade .. you may have a faulty relay and that is clicking repeatedly .. as I say without looking it is difficult . If You have electrical Knowledge .. and are safety trained you may be able to find the fault yourself.. but it is doubtful that you could repair it as most of the components in a DLP TV are surface mounted on the circuit board and you need specialist equipment to service and solder them .. about the only thing you could do would be block replacement of a circuit and that may prove expensive if it was not that one that caused the fault in the first place . With these units about the only user serviceable component is the Lamp .do not try to measure the voltage at the lamp socket voltages here are in excess of 12,0000 volts on initial spark up . if you don't have a manual for this set I found one on this site http://www.safemanuals.com it is listed as the HL-S5686 same model different case but your model is listed in the manual .. if your going to try and repair it you can find a manual here but it is $19.50 and you may be able to find one to download off Bit torrent free http://www.eserviceinfo.com I hope this helps good luck .. Regards Vortash
It is strongly advised that unqualified personnel do not attempt to repair High Voltage equipment but leave it to qualified engineers ..
