Here's the "end-all / beat-all" solution to this issue:

Do a FACTORY RESET on the router. Grab a normal pen / pencil / very small "phillips" type screwdriver. On the back of the unit, there will either be a hole where you can press and hold down a reset button.. or some of the newer models will have a normal button sticking out a bit..

The proper procedure:

1.) Whichever the type of reset button.. with the router still on, press and HOLD the reset button.. count to 30 SLOWLY (saying "one one-thousand, two one-thousand").. while STILL HOLDING DOWN THE RESET BUTTON with your free hand, unplug the power cord..

2.) While STILL HOLDING DOWN THE RESET BUTTON, repeat your slow count to 30... once you reach 30, (again with your free hand) plug the power cord back in... KEEP HOLDING DOWN THE RESET BUTTON!!

3.) While still holding down the reset button and with the power cord plugged back in, REPEAT the "slow 30-count" A THIRD TIME.

Once you reach "30", you can now release your "death press" on the reset button. You may see some lights blinking, cycling, etc. Once all the lights appear to be a solid green which should be, the router should be fully reset back to factory settings, thus also resetting the password back to factory settings.

Most manufacturers' username and password are similar to the following:

USERNAME: admin
PASSWORD: password

or

USERNAME: admin
PASSWORD: admin

If those don't work, do a google search on the brand and full model number of your router followed by the words "factory default passowrds". You will find a few websites with common default usernames and passwords for just about every router in existence.

Tip

Forgot my password.

If you ever forget your password to your router you can look up the default password online.
Most default passwords for linksys is: login=blank password=admin
Default passwords for belkin is: blank
Default passwords for netgear: login=admin password=password
Default passwords for d-link: login=admin password=1234 or password.

if none of the passwords work then you can reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button in with a paperclip for 30 seconds while powered on. This will erase any customized settings and apply the factory default settings. If the password doesn't work please check with your device manual.

Login to Facebook using your old password, click the little gear icon in the upper-right, click "Settings," then click "Edit" to the right of the "Password" line.

If you've forgotten your old password, click the "Forgot your password?" link just below the password box on the Facebook login page.

Forget my router password

if you forgot your wireless password or your router password then you can login to your router from your browser by going to 192.168.0.1 the default router login is admin/password or 1234.
go to wireless and then you can change your security password.
if you are unable to login to the router from a browser then you will need to reset your router to factory settings by holding the reset button in with a paper clip for 30 seconds while powered on. then login and reconfigure your settings. you will need to reconfigure all your wireless devices to join your wireless network after this is done.

Unable to login to laptop due to forgotten login password

First thing you can try is:

1: When booting up the laptop Press F8 until you see a screen show that has an option to boot in "Safe Mode"
2: Once it has finished booting up you can Select Administrator and hopefully there is no password set.
3: If there is no password set then login as Administrator and goto "Control Panel", Select User Accounts and change your daughter's password to something she wont forget ;p

if that fails then you can try this

http://www.lostpassword.com/

Offers a program that resets your passwords.

Hope this helped.
