MY WINAMP HAS BAD SOUND DRIVERS WHAT I DO?

Reinstall directx,reinstall audio drivers,reinstall winamp.Ser the right dirrect sound output from optin/sound.

If your default media player is worrking alright then it is possible that the WINAMP installed is having some software issues with your laptop sound driver.
Hence it will be good to uninstall the winamp and choose a new download to be installed and tried.
However if there is issues with the media player then the driver must be reinstalled.

that means you are not installed proper drivers for audio. which operating system r u using in your system? select drivers from hp website and install

My long standing WinAmp suddely started giving me the following message: "Bad Direct Sound driver, Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code 88780078"

First you just play the songs in VLC player.If sounds comes then ok,otherwise cheack below that i have written......

I think either the (XP)sound drivers doesn't match or the problem in your sound device. So it's better to go to the nearest service station and cheak your laptop. If it is OK then, search for proper sound drivers from them or in google.

sounds like the sound card is dying, or the sound codec's are wrong.

check the sound drivers in device manager. if it gives yellow sign then re-install sound drivers.

you need to install the compatible relatek high definition audio driver. go to www.driverguide.com and download and install the driver compatible to your hardware. If its a branded computer go their website and download the drivers from there.

I ahve problem like My laptop is C700 series of compaq(C772TU) I ahve changed it OS from vista to XP and now there is no audio output whenever I try to play a song it gives msg like " Please installproper device or select another device in configuration Error code: 88780078"

Basically, it means that there's a problem with whatever Output Device you've selected in: Winamp > Prefs > Plugins > Output > out_ds > config

Either change it to match your Sound card device driver
or (re)install latest sound card drivers (and maybe also DirectX).
You can also run (Start/Run( dxdiag.
Look under "Sound to see what the problem is.
This often means you need to reinstall or update your sound drivers.
