Laptop asking to insert media boot disc and not got one

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Samsung RV515 how do you reboot a laptop?

Oh dear sounds like hard drive failure. When the computer cannot find instructions to load am operating system it asks for them. I think your computer hard disk is given up the ghost which I'd where it would normally load the boot information. The boot information is the operating system like Windows. There are ways to check the hard disk I do hope you had back ups though.

On the screen of my computer is sais " Boot and select proper boot device. Insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" What do i need to insert to get my computer running?

Dear User,

Kindly enter into setup and change the first boot device to Hard Disk. Also check there should not be any pen drive connected and no disc should be in optical drive.

If still the issue persist then please boot the system with operating system disc and check if detects the hard drive and repair the operating system.

I cant upgrade my operation system to XP

Save all needed files to an external media: my documents, desktop, emails, etc. Insert the XP CD in your computer and reboot. Your computer is probably configured to boot from cd , if it asks you follow the onscreen directions to boot from cd. In the installation, make sure you select fresh installation.
If your computer will not boot from cd make sure to enter the bios setup when you first turn your computer on either by pressing del or f2 or whatever it says onscreen. Find where it says boot order and make sure CD or DVD drive is first.

Warning: this will entirely wipe out your computer, but you won't run into compatiblity issues.
