    Hi, the JMV 517 error code is as a result of software corruption. One way or the other, your Blackberry's operating system file has be corrupt.
    Your Blackberry OS needs to be reinstalled in order for the problem to be solved. You will need Blackberry Desktop Manager installed on a computer, download the latest device software from your carrier website and perform a clean reload of the device software. Below is a link that will guide you on how to do the clean reload .

    Note that due to the JVM error(s) , unless you have done a backup of your personal data of have contacts on a SIM card, you WILL LOOSE all personal data on the device.

    The actual error is JVM Error 517. It means the file system on your blackberry is corrupt.

    To correct this, follow the steps outlined below:
    1. If not already installed, download BlackBerry Device Software and BlackBerry Desktop Manager from the wireless service provider web site.
    2. Install BlackBerry Desktop Manager and then install the BlackBerry Device Software.
    3. Use Application Loader to reload the software on the BlackBerry device.
