SOURCE: flashing green light
I had the same problem due to power surge.Repairman came and said power board replacement might fix--$300 parts and labor, but if DM module is damaged, another $600-700. My set is 5 yrs. old. I'm shopping for a new LCD.

The registration card may help with warranty going through the TV company. But, that's the last option.
You can fix it yourself by replacing this board. The board number should be BA71G0F01043.
The 8 Inverter transformer are the problem. They are on many TV power boards that are causing the same problems.
Ebay is selling a couple for $49. Good price I think.
If you decied to throw the board in the trash, let me know. I maybe able to help you fix it so you can have a spare board. I fixed mine that way.

Thank you for the help. I actually changed the whole main power supply board and it still did not fix the problem. When I put the new one in, I had the tv on for about 3 hours and then I shut it off. No sooner did I get it back up on the wall and the problem started all over again. When I pulled the original board, the caps all looked fine so I am not even sure the board is bad. Problem is there is no one around me to test it. I am not going back to the same shop that already told me that it was a bad main power supply board. Any other suggestions?

You've got components that have gone bad, probably from age and the normal heat inside a CRT monitor case.
I hate to say it, but it's really not worth fixing. You can usually find a used but working 17" monitor for under 20 bucks.

You'll need a Pandora Battery + Magic MS!
