SOURCE: BLACK SCREEN

Does it go black if you you use it as just one single monitor? If it does, you will need to open up to inspect the power supply first.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I need a driver for my polyview moitor model v396

There are no drivers for monitors. Your system might be inflicted with an other problem other than a missing driver.

Good Luck!

Polyview v396 won't turn on

raphy916, You should view the longer video clips dealing with LCD monitor (display) disassembly and or repair of LCD switch-mode-power-supply repair and INVERTER repair. then you will know if you should attempt to effect a repair to your LCD. Here is a little hint for you. Take pictures or video of your work progress so you can reassemble unit without EXTRA parts laying around or connectors replaced where they shouldn't be. What should you visualy inspect for??? Look for "frosty" looking solder joints on the bottom of the SMPS/inverter board, and swollen "tops" on electrolytic filter capacitors. Youtube is good for pictures and video of "bad" and or "failed filter caps" !!! Note! You didn't mention if the powersupply (ac to dc) is "lay on floor black brick" or if your monitor plugs directly into the power strip. also how many "on" hours has this unit seen over it's life???? Let me know if this info was at least a bit helpful to you. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@aol.com

Check the signal, is the monitor digital or analog, if your video card has a DVI conenctor, then the monitor should be DVI, so it needs to be set to Digital, If your monitor came with a CD, check to see if it has drivers that need to be installed

Same as before this sounds very similar to the problem that I had with my polyview v396 19" . Its a power supply problem unclip the panel withdraw the power supply it plugs in on its own seperate board. Look for capacitors that bulge and replace them in fact replace them all on tha board not that hard. Replace them with the same rating voltage and micro fards. Cheaper than relacing the whole panel, hope this helps. :)

cmv221d wont power on even after changing capacitors Not even the LED or any response from the screen, nothing.. I ordered replacement capacitors, all except the big 400v one, replaced them all.. nothing's changed. I've ordered the big capacitor's replacement just incase, but heard they rarely break.. any other ideas of what the problem might be? The guy who gave me it said that he thought all that was wrong with it was a line across the screen (corresponding to where he said that line was, I found some dirt on the edge of the connectors). It actually did not power on as it was supposed to, according to the previous owner, who made no profit by giving it to me. A tiny part of the circuit-board did get slightly peeled when pushing one capacitor in, but only about 3mm across, affecting two small strips of whatever those little chrome strips are, but I soldered it back down.. I may have also re-attached the large Capacitor, and in folding it back down, had to force it.. could this have internally damaged it easily? This is the first time I've done anything like this, but I have followed a tutorial and learned the correct technique for soldering. Does anyone have any ideas what else it could be? The fuse looks fine. The power cable works in other monitors. I hear a little crackling if slowly pulling out the power cable as you'd expect with any screen if you listen close (atleast in Australia, I remember being surprised at how much things crackle here after moving from the UK). But yeah, basically the screen is stone cold dead, no response whatsoever..
