How to install my Alpine in my 2001 525I BMW also how to by-pass the wires that allow the DVD to work without the e-brake on.

to install it you need to buy a dash kit for your car from walmart or amazon.com then you buy for your model and car the wire adapter kit. plain and simple from there. colored wires connected together easy as plug and play. to by pass the e-brake you need to buy a relay.
here is something i wrote up awhile ago for a buddy to bypass his after he took pictures of his model back.
On the back on the unit there should be an additional wire labeled as the "Parking Brake" or something to that effect. Law implies that this should be spliced into the Parking Brake wire (which is essentially a constant hot which becomes a ground when engaged). So the obvious thing here is to simply ground the Parking Brake wire on the back of the radio. This can be done just splicing it into the black wire on the radio harness.

I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator with an Alpine W900BT Double Din receiver. I would like to be able to watch DVDs while I am driving. I was curious if there was anyone with DETAILED information, as I am...

First thing to do is to take out the head unit. Find the wiring loom behind the unit and look for a pink/black wire. Try to get as much wire as possible and cut it (away from the head unit). Strip the wire and connect it to the ground of your car (metal object or casing of your head unit). Your DVD now plays whenever you want. Have a nice day!

I need the wiring dia. for alpine 8020

If the alpine 8020 is a deck(head unit) the wire diagram is as followed:

Red: Accessory
Yellow: Constant Power
Black: Ground
Orange to orange/white is a illumination or dimmer wire.
White: front left speakers
Grey: front left (white black and so on usually the negative on the speaker connections)
Purple rear left (purple black = neg)
Green: Rear Right
And if a video deck(light green is park brake)
(which is usually just a ground) so legally it needs to be on your park brake but can be grounded to make it work.

Speakers? (Terminals larger one is positive, smaller one is negative) Place capacitors on if needed to filter out and clear up bass

Hope this helps couldn't look uo what a alpine 8020 was..

Alpin d105 need to know how to wire manually w/switch instead of tr7

I ran across of alot of lcd head units that requiers the parking brake wire connected so it will show the video, (usually just audio if parking brake not on). But if you connect that wire to a proper ground (screen always on) or a grounded switch so you can control it maually (turn it on or off when you choose). WAAHLA!!!! It works, now you can watch the last 10 mins of sponge bob and find out how he and patrick get out of the jam.

The video wont work but the audio work perfectly fine.

the reason your seeing that message is because there is a wire on the head unit that needs to be connected to the parking brake switch on your car. the wire your looking for is a light green color that needs to be spliced into the positive side of the parking brake switch. once you hook that wire up the video portion of the head unit will work but you have to have the car in park with the parking brake applied. if you comment back with the make and model of car your driving i might be able to tell you where the parking brake switch is and what color wire to splice the light green wire into.

Monitor will not show dvd

you need to put the dvds handbrake wire to a suitable earth point and then your dvds will play fine i think the wirings colour is a yellow with a blue tracer line on the wire if its an alpine dvd player and the same is on all the monitors themselves that wire will have to be connected to a good earthing point but luckily on the monitors they have a black earth wire running to them so just splice that yellow/blue wre into the black earth wire on each headrest monitor !
