I have two PCs, one is branded by DELL Vostro 320 - all in one and another one is Assembled. My branded PC starts very quickly. On the other hand my assembled PC takes too much time. Why?

There are many possible reasons for this. First, a branded machine is specifically tailored by the manufacturer for peak performance - they contract with the motherboard manufacturers and have customs boards made with chipsets tailored to the processor(s) they intend to install in the series. Likewise, the BIOS is also specifically tailored for their purposes. Lastly, they can also arrange for special loads of Windows to bypass or speed up functions they do or don't use. Assembled machines use motherboards manufactured for a wider range of processors - this gives the builder flexibility and also allows a wider range of upgrades and expansions over a branded machine. The downside is that in order to achieve wider compatibility, extra code is often used in the chipsets and BIOS and this can slow down startup. Its a trade-off of starting speed versus long-term upgradability and choice of peripherals.
That said, there are a few things you CAN do to speed up you assembled machine. In the BIOS for most of these motherboards, you can choose NOT to show the manufacturer's logo on startup. You can also enable "fast-boot" or "quickboot", which bypasses the memory test and most of the POST checks. Lastly, you can usually adjust the time that the machine hesitates at bootup looking for the BIOS or BOOT MENU function keys. All of this can cut the startup time considerably. But seriously, as someone who has run the gamut of machines from my original IBM XT that ran a 20 MEGABYTE hard drive, has 640 KILOBYTES of RAM, and ran at a blistering 4.77 MEGAHERTZ (no - not GIGA), even I must admit that I sometimes get a bit jaded about performance issues. But then I try to put it in perspective and realize that if I had to do what I am trying to do WITHOUT a PC, the 25-35 seconds would probably be the amount of time I'd spend making up my mind that I really didn't need to do whatever it was in the first place.. (GRIN). Hope this helps!

I have a 2005 chevy equinox and when i turn the key, everything comes on when i turn the key but the car will not start however my boyfriend goes under the car ith a screw driver and does something with...

could be the ignition switch, loose or corroded wires to/on the starter assembly (big or small wires), or the solenoid on the starter is bad which is part of the starter assembly and best if replaced all together. Find out from the boyfriend if he is jumping dc+ from the big live wire to the small wire and thus getting power to activate the solenoid (bad wire or switch). If he is just tapping the starter assembly and it activates, internal contacts are shot, and it will quit all together soon. Starters and brake lines are much easier to replace at "your" convenience before there is no option.

05 tc. A/C blows hot then cold. Didn't blow cold

The A/C pump ismade of three seperate components. You are correct in it being electrical, to some degree. The compressor is self turnes, & in turning moves the freon thru the condensor, dryer, evaporator, & condensor. With the engine off, you can grab the clutch on the compressor, & turn it manually. Now, to your question. When you turn on your A/C, it sends a signal to one of 3 parts on your A/C compressor. The 1st signal, is a charge to the magnet (not its nomenclature name) that pulls the clutch, quickly, into the compressor shaft, so it can start turning. Now as this signal, is working,on an intermittant basis, 1 your clutch has been damaged, not always engaging fully, causing disc wear. The activating magnet, works intermittantly, this too, strains the electrical wiring, going thru the compressor to the magnet. Now the compressor works, but, 2 components, have gotten very hot, by intermittant action. To remove them, if "fused", will be labor intensive. Thanhaving a "sealed" system, dis-assembled, then re-assembled on a mechanics work table. No matter how hard I try its never completely clean......the repaired compressor can allow harmful contaminates into a system that works, with one part not working. Once contaminates are in the system......all the components can be damaged. The mechanic, is giving you the most cost efficieant repair, that will last longest, with least possiblility of failure.

My omega 1000 juicer won't turn on - I just bought it today.

Make sure it is assembled correctly and the latch arms snap shut completely
without any undue force. Also on the bottom of the juicer there should be a
reset button that might have tripped, just push it in. Other wise give Omega
a call.

I just bought a Scotts 2000 discontinued model because it was the last drop spreader that lowes had,the problem is it works better in reverse then it does forward,???? is the hopper on backwards ?

Very likely, the gears that turn the horizontal distribution bar were installed backwards, causing this odd problem you're discribing.
If you bought it already assembled, I recommend returning it. It's your call whether you have them fix the problem, give you a new functional spreader, or give you your money back.
If you assembled it yourself, then you probably already realize by now what component was assembled incorrectly.
Good luck!

Lightining Hit

When the computer gets zapped, virtually any part can be damaged, including RAM, disk drives, connectors on cabinet (eg USB), PCI cards, etc.

Usually the CPU stays safe, as the motherboard blows before CPU.

When you get this kind of damage is always better taking the computer to a repair shop, instead of DIY, as there is need to test all parts.

Ensure that you assembled Motherboard, CPU , and heath-sink properly.

Try first starting the computer with a minimal set of devices plugged to the motherboard, with only PSU, RAM (1 module), Video card if needed and CPU/Fan.

If there is no power at all then it is likely a bad PSU, if it starts but not screen, it is either a bad RAM or the motherboard had not been assembled properly, or had been damaged during assemblage.

Wet pulp

There are two almost identical cone-shaped parts, one with metal screening and one solid dark plastic (I'm going by the parts color appearance of my 8003 model). Be sure you're using the one with the screen, otherwise the juice has nowhere to go but out with the pulp.

My food processor just stopped working?

A Cuisinart food processor doesn't start before the top is assembled properly, that is a safety feature. Their strong motors can withstand also hard to cut ingredients.
