Your problem is possibly one of two things. The ice maker is leaking or the defrost tray behind the rear panel inside freezer back wall is clogged with ice or something else. If you know its not the ice maker unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel to see if the drain is blocked there, Let me know, Sea Breeze

Ice build u p and leakage in freezer

you have a blocked drain in the freezer, when the machine goes into defrost the heater comes on and melts the frost off of the evaporator coil, the water melts and goes down the drain hose under the coil and leaks down to a drip pan near the compressor where it evaporates from the heat, your drain is blocked and the water is leaking onto the freezer floor and will drip out onto the floor,i use a steemer to blow out the drain line, shut down the machine or unplug it,melt out all the ice with hair dryer, depending on your model you might have to remove the back inside wall of the freezer to get at drain hole, you need something to push the **** out the drain hose, you can try a turkey baster or air from a compressor or a shop vac set it to blow, when you think it's clear pour a cup of hot water into the drain,if it drains down you're done if not keep hitting it with heat and air to push it through.

Leaking water and ice build-up in freezer

There's a drain hole in the freezer side behind the bottom drawer in the back wall that must be clogh ; put hot water into it untill melted the ice and keep pouring water to clean the drain (don't worry , the water goes to an evaporative tray) .Keep the drain clean by putting every 3/4 months half a cup of clorox or bleach.

Water pools at bottom of freezer, freezes and water leaks out

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove bottom shelf from fridge and remove the styrofoam..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. Water accumulating in bottom of freezer and leaking onto floor

Yes the drain is clogged and the water that supouse to go through became ice so it make it worse.Put hot water in the drain hole until it runs through,it'll go to an evaporative pan on top of the compresor to keep it warm and vaporize the water.

Smeg fride freezer leaking

HI Mark,
The evaporator drain is blocked causing the defrost water to pool, freeze and then leak onto your floor.
Clear out the freezer, then use a hammer to break up the ice on the floor. Now remove the rear panel. You'll see more ice build up. Don't use the hammer on it! (Too close to the coils for comfort) Use a hair dryer to warm up/melt the ice below the coils.
You'll see the drain hole now. Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into it with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of ¼ inch flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog.

Water leaking onto floor

unplug it again , sounds like your drain line has frozen, instaead of defrost water going down the tube and under refrig in drain pan, becuse tube is frozen its draining into freezer compartment and eventually spilling out through front of unit. totally defrost unit and behind back wall of freezer youll see a metal trough designed to catch water, in the center (under the ice is gonna be the drain hole, pour boiling water down until it runs freely
