Usually the computer site may have suffered a break down beyond repairs causing a redesign to susstitute the old one. If the previous system site ever repeared, would be made available. The cause for site alterations does not always have to be hackers. The computer servers may have been damaged beyond repairs or a new system resoruces were invented to replace the older one. Sometimes system administrators decide the older site is compromise and wire out the whole history to restart a new one. If a hacker attacked facebook, it would have been detected and reported.
