Seem like you have a sensor problem. Open up the bike and check to see if your sensor is aligned properly. Check your sensor magnet. Get parts at www.treadmilldoctor.com or usedtreadmillrepairparts.com

My 390 E is locked up and I can't move the pedals. I checked the belt, it's still on and it's tight.

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
Electronics Problem You control the tension of the pedals using the buttons on the console. When you assemble the A.C.T. elliptical, you have to thread a group of wires from the console through the upright down to the electronics board. These wires communicate the resistance settings to the electronics board. If the wires twist, disconnect or break, the resistance will not work. You will need to reconnect or replace the wires.

Tip

Is there a Quick Test I can do when there is No Resistance on my Stairmaster...

The following test will help to determine if the cause of no resistance on your Stairmaster 4000PT stepper is the console. By performing the following test, the console is eliminated from the electrical circuit. If resistance is present when the test is performed, the console is bad. Paper Clip Trick
  1. First UNPLUG YOUR MACHINE from the wall, then disconnect the grey cable from the back of the console.
  2. If your cable is a 6-pin round connector or a 9-pin square connector, using a paper clip formed into a "U" shape, insert the ends of the paper clip in the pin sockets #2 and #4. Then you will need to plug the power cord back in and start stepping. You should experience full pedal resistance.
  3. If there is still no pedal resistance, UNPLUG YOUR MACHINE from the wall and disconnect the wire from an end of the load resistor so that there is no wire attached to that end. Then plug the power cord back in and perform the paper clip test again. If resistance is present, the load resistor needs replaced. If resistance is not present, either the gray cable or the alternator is bad.

My Proform 100 ZLX Exercycle is stuck in low/zero pedal resistance, and doesn't respond to console settings. Can this be economically fixed?

follow the steps, and fix it. God bless you

Be aware that the resistance is often the part that requires repair. Resistance is managed magnetically, so often if the machine is working, but the resistance isn't setting correctly or at all, check the bolts that secure the magnets. If they are loose, the resistance will slip. If the bolts are fine, check the magnets themselves by using a refrigerator magnet and see if it is attracted or repelled by the your fridge magnet. If not, the magnets have de-magnetized and need to be replaced.

Resistance on elliptical acting weird

1) tight the bolts tension for magnet and clean very well. and proof..if the fail
2) go to test the magnet, use again the magnet from your refrigerator magnet, for attraction and repulsion. If do not pass the TEST replace the magnet in any Hardware such home depot, etc.
God bless you

How do I fix my crosstrainer, magnetic resistance has stopped working

This happened to me and I took the wheel mechanism cover off to discover the tension motor cable had come out of it's pulley guide- so there wasn't enough tension left in the cable to pull it away from the wheel- quite an easy fix for me- hope it is the snake for you!

Why does the resistance on my elliptical randomly go to OFF while working out

Do this for your console Elliptical:Removethe bolts or screws securing the console to the upright assembly. Lift theconsole and confirm that the cable connections are secure. Remove the coverfrom the console's battery bay and install a fresh set of batteries. Replacethe battery cover.2
Detachthe ends of the pedals from the crank axles. Remove the left and right discshields and side shields. Inspect the interior of the base unit and locate theflywheel.3
Inspectthe flywheel as it turns. Locate the magnet installed on the flywheel. Turn theflywheel until the magnet passes in front of the nearby reed switch. Loosen thescrew securing the switch in place. Rotate the switch to reduce the gap betweenit and the magnet. Tighten the screw.4
Replace the left and right disc shields and sideshields. Reattach the ends of the pedals to the crank axles

Good luck, sincerely. G-d bless you.

We just received our bike and it is very difficult to pedal. There also isn't a change when we change from level 1 to 16. Is there something we can do to fix it?

If the upper console time, speed, and calories then usually the lower board or a mechanical hang up may cause these problems. To eliminate the mechanical remove the upper console and disconnect the terminal cable now start pedaling if their is no resistance and pedaling has become easy it could be the lower board if not and the resistance stay the same then the mechanical resistance is stuck. You will need to call the manufacturer if their is not a local servicer for this product.

How to use the Proform 515S EKG Elliptical?

To mount the elliptical trainer, firmly hold the handlebars or the T-handle and carefully step onto the pedal that is in the lowest position. Next, step onto the other pedal. Push the pedals until they begin to move with a continuous motion. Note: The pedal disks can turn in either direction. It is recommended that you turn the pedal disks in the direction shown below; however, to give variety to your exercise, you may choose to turn the pedal disks in the opposite direction.
To dismount the elliptical trainer, allow the pedals to come to a complete stop. CAUTION: The elliptical trainer does not have a free wheel; the pedals will continue to move until the flywheel stops. When the pedals are stationary, step off the highest pedal first. Then, step off the lowest pedal.
As you exercise, you can adjust the resistance of the pedals with the resistance knob on the console. To increase the resistance, turn the knob clockwise; to decrease the resistance, turn the knob counterclockwise.

Pedals/resistance locked

Was this at a retail store you should exchage it.
If not then you will have to take the side off need to inspect all mechanical attached to the rails. It will be apparent to see the flywheel their eddy current transformer on top of unit or the flywheel itself is one package their should be are wire comming out of trace it back to the circuit unplug the connectors the resistance should be gone now test the mechanical function of unit to see if the pedal are free from any binding then reverse connectors and see if you can adjust the resistance if not the board is defective.
