Need to dismount KitchenAid KECT 365 electric cooktop

We want to replace burners in our KitchenAid KECT 365 electric cooktop (metal burners project 1/2 inch above glass cooktop). Installation sheet shows four mounting brackets, but we cannot see any brackets at all, nor any adjustment screws. In theory the cooktop should lift out but it doesn't move. How can we dismount it without breaking glass top so we can remove bottom plate and replace burners? Also, some of the 12 bottom plate screws won't come out when we tried to get in from underneath the counter.

SOURCE: Kitchen aid KECC507GBL3 electric 36in cooktop.

Hi,

If it’s a range, there is usually a couple of screws that hold the front of the top down, remove the screws, lift the front of the top and pull it out from the back hinges. Install the new top, make sure there are no loose wiring.
If it’s a cook top then make sure that the power to the cook top has been turned off, open the cabinet and look up. There should be a couple of brackets that secure the cook top. Remove the brackets, carefully lift the top and set it on the counter top (put a towel on the counter top first). replace the glass top (make sure there is no loose or exposed wiring), set the cook top back in the counter, secure it with brackets as was before, and double check your work.

Thanks for contacting fixya.com

Why not refer this issue directly to KitchenAid. Maybe they can explain the disparity between what the installation sheet shows and what you actually don't see.

When I attempt to turn on a burner it pops the breaker....what is wrong?

You have "Dead Short!" There is no resistence between the positive and negative wires. You can't fix it yourself. Call the agent. There is some chance you can get a shock. (deadly?) from the metal fparts of the cooktop, including the part that is in the cupboard. Call the agent. Do it NOW!

Kitchenaid KECC502 Electric Cooktop: LED light at the left rear knob is always on but the left rear burner single or dual does not work. I tried to turn knob on and off but nothing enable burner.

I wish I had the exact answer, because I have the same exact problem!!! You posted this about a month ago, which is when my unit started having LED "on" problems. Just in the past week, the top left power on LED will not go off, and nothing I can do gets the dual large burner to come on. Any thoughts??? Reply to: mchunko@csonka.com

Kitchenaid 30'' low flame output

It's wasn't the perfect solution but I removed all the burner caps and cleaned each one with a tooth brush. Then using a metal trussing pin, I poked through the flame holes to clean them. Noticed better flame output from both.
