Open Question

Need a replacement filter for my Brookstone Coffee for One

The permanent filter for my Brookstone Coffee for One is lost. I need a replacement. Have looked in the Coffee for One's catalog, at Brookstone online, and for replacements companies online. Can't find any. Does anyone know if the filter is compatible with any other small or singel serve coffee machines?

Any help is much apprecciated. Thanks.

SOURCE: How does it make coffee?

You fill it to the line indicating how many cups of coffee you want to make. Then you add coffee to the brew basket, at least 1 full heaping teaspoon per cup. Put the basket on top of the stem and place the stem into the coffee maker. Put the lid on and plug it in. That's it. Don't plug it in without the lid, it's a percolator. It will squirt the water out the top of the stem and it flows down through the coffee grounds.

SOURCE: Permanent Keurig filter leaks

Are you using the my k-cup with the Keurig pre-filled K-cups? If so it won't work. There must be a needle on the top and bottom of the K-cup for this machine to work. The My personal K-cup does not have a needle in the bottom. It's only to be used for filling with your own coffee.

You don't need paper filters it has a 'permanent filter'. That means it has a fine mesh nylon filter that you rinse and re-use.

Coffee brews cloudy

If the coffee grains are too fine, it will flow through the permanent filter. Use the paper filter instead. Also, make sure the lid is on the caraffe tight, or the filter basket will back up.

Have the Cuisinart DCC-1200 coffee maker. When you begin to brew coffee it brews some of it but leaves the whole filter top full with coffee and coffee grounds. Called then customer service line and...

It sounds like you were using the gold permanent coffee filter in addition to a paper filter. You should use one or the other.

The gold permanent filter must be cleaned between each brewing cycle.

Try this:

1. Remove the filter basket from the coffee machine.

2. Remove the gold permanent coffee filter from the basket.

3. Clean the basket thoroughly. Ensure there are no grounds clogging any holes.

4. Insert a new paper filter only into the basket. Do not use the gold permanent filter for this test.

5. Fill the water reservoir with the desired amount of water.

6. Add the desired amout of coffee grounds into the paper coffee filter.

7. Replace the filter basket into its holder in the coffee machine, and close the water reservoir lid. Press firmly on top where it says, "Press to Close".

8. Ensure the glass carafe is placed correctly in its position on the heating plate.

9. Turn the Function Knob to "BREW", then flip the Power Swich to "ON"

Hope that helps.
